About Me
Hello, we are Faye Weafer and Kayleigh Thomas-Petford and we have recently started our childminding business together. We are both in happy marriages and have a son and daughter each. Having both worked with children for more than 15 years each, we decided it was time for a new and exciting challenge. As our own children are in childcare settings, we realise the importance of building positive relationships between the families and childminders. We want to offer parents, carers and their children a home-from-home setting where they feel happy and welcome.
As we are both working together, we can have more children which allows us to run a mini nursery style setting. We are a very active setting and aim to go out every morning. This could include visits to the library, local parks, nature walks, soft plays, toddler groups and trips into the local community.
Throughout the day, the children will have access to a free-flow garden where they can use age appropriate toys and be creative with water play and mud kitchens.
We follow the EYFS framework and carry out daily observations which contribute towards a learning journey for each child which will be shared with parents/carers at regular intervals throughout the year.
We offer school drop offs and pick ups to Robertswood School and in the future we will be offering drop offs and pick ups from Chalfont Infant School.

My Experience
Chalfont Childcare is run by Faye Weafer and Kayleigh Thomas-Petford. We each have over 15 years experience of working with children. Faye has worked as a nursery nurse in a private nursery and as community nursery nurse for the NHS. Kayleigh has worked in a primary school as a teacher and assistant head teacher and has taught across multiple year groups.
My Qualifications
We have both completed all of the childminding training with Suffolk Childcare Agency (SCA) who we are registered with. We have food hygiene certificates, full paediatric first aid and safeguarding level 2. We regularly complete further training with the agency which keeps us up to date with the latest developments in childcare.
My Availability
We are opening on 1st September 2025 with settling in sessions taking place towards the end of August.
Chalfont Childcare is open 47 weeks a year, Monday to Thursday from 7am to 5pm, covering both term time and school holidays.
