My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Niamh. I have just finished my BSc Biological Sciences in Liverpool and have always been passionate about understanding how things work, especially when it comes to health, development, and the natural world. I love sharing that curiosity with others, especially children. In my free time, I enjoy running and swimming, which helps me stay active, focused, and energised. I’m a calm, caring person who finds joy in supporting others, whether that’s through teaching, helping out, or just being a steady, friendly presence.
My Experience
I’ve worked with children in a variety of roles, from childminding and tutoring to education outreach and customer care. I spent three years regularly looking after a girl from ages 8 to 11, collecting her from school, taking her to after-school activities, and providing a safe and supportive environment while her parents were at work.
At university, I worked with the outreach team to deliver interactive sessions on biology and technology to primary school students. I also tutor GCSE students in science, helping them build confidence and understand tricky topics at their own pace.
My experience also includes working as a Healthcare Assistant in a busy Liverpool hospital, where I developed strong communication and care skills. I’ve also been a team leader at Clarks, where I ran the kids’ department. That role taught me how to make children and families feel comfortable in busy environments and helped me grow my leadership and problem-solving skills.
All of these roles have given me a deep respect for the trust families place in childcare, and I always aim to create a warm, dependable environment where children feel safe, understood, and valued.
My Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS Check (obtained through my training as a Healthcare Assistant)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for both adults and children
- BSc in Biological Sciences, with modules focused on health, development, and communication
- Experienced in science tutoring and primary outreach education
- Strong background in child-centred care through both medical and educational roles
- Confident supporting homework, emotional wellbeing, and everyday routines
My Availability
I’m currently fully available for childcare work, as I’ve recently moved home from university. My family has just relocated to Robertsbridge, so I’m now based in the area and happy to offer flexible support, whether that’s regular care, one-off babysitting, or help during school holidays and weekends.
