My Summary
About Me
Hello!
I'm a fun, reliable, and creative nanny with a genuine love for working with children of all ages. I bring energy, kindness, and a calm presence to every family I work with. Whether it's imaginative play, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, homework help, or simply being a steady and caring support, I tailor each day to your child’s needs and personality.
I have experience working with children from toddlers to teens, including children with additional needs. I’m confident managing routines, school runs, and planning enriching activities—both educational and fun!
Safety, trust, and communication are at the heart of my approach. I aim to create a nurturing environment where children feel heard, safe, and excited to grow.
My Experience
I’ve gained valuable experience over the years through both long-term and ad hoc childcare roles, supporting children across a wide range of ages—from toddlers to teenagers. I’ve worked with families through trusted platforms and supported others more informally through friends and personal recommendations.
My style is warm, calm, and creative. I’m confident in routines, play-based learning, emotional support, and daily structure—all things that children need to feel secure and flourish. I’ve been told by many families that I naturally create a joyful and safe space, and I love that this comes through even in the small moments.
Why I Love Working With Children
What draws me most to childcare is the way children see the world—with curiosity, playfulness, and sincerity. Spending time with them puts a smile on my face and reminds me of the joy in everyday moments. It also deepens my desire to become a mother myself one day.
Cherished Experience: 4 & 5 Year Olds
One moment I hold close was looking after my friend’s familys cousins, aged 4 and 5 after a trial shift. They weren’t getting along at first, but I set up an outdoor arts and crafts activity—painting—and something just clicked. Slowly, I watched them start to bond over the colours and conversation. It was a special moment to witness their dynamic shift, and it reminded me of how powerful creativity is in encouraging connection and calmness between children.
Detailed Experience & Responsibilities
Long-term care: Toddler & Young Child (Ages 2–6)
Through family referrals, I supported two families regularly over long periods with their toddlers and young children.
Responsibilities included:
Creating engaging routines that blended free play, structured activities, and rest time
Supporting potty training with patience and positivity
Managing drop-offs and pickups from nursery and early years classes
Planning sensory activities (water play, sand, dough, painting) and storytime for language development
Assisting with dressing and tidy-up routines to encourage independence
Providing comfort and emotional regulation during tantrums or tiredness
Maintaining a safe, cheerful atmosphere in the home
These experiences taught me the value of consistency, gentle discipline, and using play as a tool to teach boundaries and boost confidence. I’ve become skilled at noticing when toddlers need redirection, quiet time, or stimulation—responding with the right tone and strategy.
School-aged Children (Ages 7–11)
I supported children in this age group both as a nanny and tutor, helping bridge the gap between school and home with both structure and fun.
Responsibilities included:
Assisting with school runs (both drop-off and pickup)
Helping with homework in creative and patient ways
Organising playdates and structuring outdoor games
Providing downtime after school with crafts, board games, or gentle conversation
Supporting with transitions such as changes in routine, new schools, or after-school activities
Maintaining consistent boundaries and offering encouragement during emotional upsets
Tutor (Age 8)
Following a recommendation, I tutored an 8-year-old in reading, writing, and schoolwork support in a relaxed home environment. My goal was to create sessions that were gentle, confidence-building, and engaging. I used stories, word games, and drawing prompts to keep learning fun and focused.
Recent New Experience (May 2025 – Present)
14-year-old
Supporting a teenager through a calm, companion-style role. We balance restful downtime with light activities, outdoor walks, and shared chats. I help her feel supported and safe, especially during her quieter days.
12-year-old
Providing structured after-school care including pickup, activity planning, and general supervision in the evenings. I’ve built a comfortable and trusting rapport with the child and family.
