About Me
I am a comparative student at Kings going into my second year, looking for tutor experience or babysitting. I am Brazilian but have been living in the UK for five years now, being fluent in English and Portuguese and highly proficient in Spanish. I enjoy reading and writing and I have enjoyed working with kids so far, specifically watching them grow and develop as intelligent human beings.
My Experience
I have finished A-levels with grades A*AA (A* from English Literature and Language, A from photography and A from film studies) and am currently studying at Kings University.
I have experience working as a teaching assistant in a school called Clube dos Sabias from November 2023-July 2024. Clube dos Sabias is a school for children that have Portuguese as their heritage language. My role was to help the teacher to share the Brazilian culture and language to the children, encouraging them to reconnect with their roots. I assisted with children aged 2-7.
I have experience working as a babysitter for a family of 5 for 10 months. The kids were aged 2, 4 and 6 and my role was to pick them up from school, take them to the park and to after school activities, take them home and look after them until the parents arrived. I made simple meals for dinner and frequently helped with their baths and bed time. I also have done many overnight shifts for the family.
During secondary school I also tutored English for year 7 and found that the students quickly developed their skills and were more open for communication when talking to younger students.
My Qualifications
I have finished my A-levels and I am currently on the second year of university.
My Availability
For now I am open to online tutoring. From September I am available for babysitting and tutoring in person. My schedule will change as I start my second year of university in September, however I should be available a couple of mornings, after school, all evenings and I am happy to do overnight shifts as well as work a couple of weekends.
