About Me

Hello! I’m Yolanda Brown, the founder and manager of Brown Lilies Childcare, based in Luton, Bedfordshire. With a strong background in education and childcare, I’ve spent several years working as a teaching assistant and cover supervisor, supporting children of all ages and abilities. These experiences sparked my passion for early years education and inspired me to create a nurturing, home-from-home environment where little ones can grow, learn, and feel truly valued.

At Brown Lilies Childcare, I provide a safe, loving, and stimulating space for children aged 9 months to 5 years. I believe every child deserves a caring start in life and the opportunity to develop at their own pace. That’s why I focus on building strong relationships with children and their families, offering personalized care that supports each child’s individual needs.

As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your child’s wellbeing. I hold relevant childcare qualifications, full paediatric first aid training, public liability insurance, and I follow Ofsted’s requirements and the EYFS framework to ensure the highest standards of care.

Thank you for considering Brown Lilies Childcare — where children are cherished, learning is fun, and every day is filled with love and laughter.

My Experience

I bring a wealth of hands-on experience and dedication to the world of childcare. Before launching Brown Lilies Childcare, I worked for several years as both a teaching assistant and cover supervisor in schools across Luton. These roles gave me invaluable experience working with children of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds — supporting their learning, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines.

Throughout my time in education, I developed a strong understanding of how children grow, learn, and express themselves. I’ve worked one-on-one with children needing additional support, led group activities, and maintained a structured, nurturing environment that helps children thrive. My experience in school settings has shaped my approach to childcare — combining structure, creativity, and genuine care.

I’m fully trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and I’m continually updating my knowledge through ongoing professional development. I hold public liability insurance and follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework to ensure children in my care meet their developmental milestones in a fun and supportive way.

Now, through Brown Lilies Childcare, I am proud to offer a safe and loving home-based setting where your child will be cared for like one of my own.

My Qualifications

I hold a strong foundation in childcare, education, and youth support, built through years of hands-on experience and continuous professional development. My journey began with a Level 2 Childcare qualification, and I have since advanced my knowledge with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and an Access to Higher Education Diploma focused on Psychology, Sociology, and Health & Social Care.

My practical experience spans across schools and youth services, including roles as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor, where I worked closely with children of all ages and abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN). I have completed certified training in Safeguarding and Child Protection, First Aid and Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Behaviour Management, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion — all crucial for maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing childcare environment.

I am also trained in supporting EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners, using educational technology like SIMS and Google Classroom, and providing academic intervention in core subjects. My background includes extensive experience working with vulnerable children and promoting their emotional and social wellbeing, particularly through my role as a Youth Support Worker.

With my commitment to learning, passion for supporting children, and understanding of early childhood development, I ensure that every child in my care receives the attention, encouragement, and guidance they need to thrive.
