About Me
I am a very polite and motivated individual who has a great passion for caring and educating children of all ages. I consider myself to be extremely reliable, dedicated and hard working towards the growth and development of the children whilst in my care. This is the main reason why I have decided to follow a career in childcare as I gain a great sense of reward seeing the children happy on a day to day basis. I ensure children learn every day and this is done by making sure the children are busy with activities, and socialising with other peers to improve their social skills and confidence amongst other children.
On a personal level I have an up-to-date DBS check, ofsted registered, a clean driving license and own a car which allows me to be mobile amongst a variety of locations. I do not smoke and would prefer the family to be non smokers. In my spare time I like to socialise with my family and friends, I enjoy keeping fit and healthy and attending social occasions such as concerts and festivals.
My Experience
I have gained several years of experience in childcare since studying at college and gaining my CACHE level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I voluntarily completed placements in a variety of childcare settings, which I felt gave me the basis of knowledge needed to prepare myself for full time work. These placements included nurseries, schools and a home based setting. These allowed me to cover several areas of childcare whilst in education.
I have worked at a private day nursery where I was situated for 2 years,working with children aged between 2months to 5years. I feel this experience has allowed me to develop my practical skills and knowledge of working in childcare.
I have worked as a ofsted registered nanny for 18months. Caring for 3 children that were aged 1, 3 and 4. I have gained valuable experience in being sole charge of the children and meeting their daily needs including meal preparation, social activities amongst children there age, care and well being of each individual child. Within this time on two occasions I provided continuous care day and night for several days whilst the parents were away on trips.
I have worked with two boys that were aged 3 and 5 with nursery and school runs being a big part of the day. Then preparing and arranging an afternoon of activities for the 3 year old which included, play groups, arts and crafts at home, preparing for school activities, park and socialising with other peers. After school I would take the boys to after school activities that they attended such as swimming and karate. I would prepare when both boys were at school in the morning nutritious and full filling evening meals that they would enjoy and bulk cook for future days.
Also then had a position looking after a boy and a girl who were 3 and 5. This position was nursery and school drop off and pick ups as well as taking children to after school activities, preparing meals, bath times and babysitting of an evening
My current job is an Ofsted registered Nanny to 3 children. When started the position the ages were 6months, 2year and 4years. Within this role I would take the younger two to playgroups etc and the eldest is at school full time. Prepare meals for all children, including weaning baby. After school activities like swimming clubs and entertaining all children in half terms.
I am currently on maternity leave and looking for a new venture in January 2018
My Qualifications
I have completed the CACHE level 3 Diploma in childcare and education at oaklands college in 2008-2010
I have completed the CACHE level 2 certificate in childcare and education at oaklands college in 2007-2008.
I have a General First Aid and a First Aid in Early Years qualification and also a Food Hygine qualification.
I gained 8 GCSE's whilst at secondary school.
