Hi, I’m Abi — a qualified nursery nurse and experienced childminder based in Royston.
With 25 years of experience working with children aged 0 to 16 years, I offer a warm, caring, and playful environment where your little ones can feel safe, supported, and most importantly — have fun! I’m also a proud mum to two lovely teenagers, aged 15 and 17, so I understand the needs of children at every stage.
I’m fully certified in paediatric first aid and safeguarding, so you can feel confident your child is in safe hands.
My home is filled with creativity, laughter, and age-appropriate activities — from arts and crafts to outdoor adventures and cosy story times. Whether you're looking for full-day care or part time support, I'm here to help.

Monday to Thursday – 7:30am to 6:00pm

My Experience
I have 25 years of childcare experience, including roles as a Baby Room Leader at a day nursery and as a private nanny, providing nurturing and developmentally supportive care for young children.
My Qualifications
I am NNEB qualified and have an up to date first aid certificate.

My opening times are Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 6pm

Abi has been an incredible part of our daughter Asabi’s life since she was just 8 months old. Now at 3 years old, our daughter continues to thrive under Abi’s care. Abi is not only compassionate and trustworthy, but she has also played a key role in our daughter's development—teaching her so much and helping her grow into a confident, happy child.
Abi provides a nurturing, home-like environment that our daughter absolutely loves. She especially enjoys spending time outdoors doing fun and educational activities, and she’s completely at ease with Abi’s lovely family—including the kittens and dog, whom she adores!
Even on weekends, if we’re driving past Abi’s place, our daughter often asks if she can go to see her—something that speaks volumes about the bond they’ve built. We are so grateful to have found someone as caring, reliable, and genuine as Abi. She truly treats the children she looks after like part of her own family, and we trust her wholeheartedly.
We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Abi has been our childminder for our 2year old son for over a year. I can honestly say I couldn't be any happier with the love and care she has given to him. Seeing him run in to the house and forgetting to say goodbye just shows how happy he is there. He also randomly asks to go to Abi's house on days that he is not due to go there.
Abi has a lovely sized house, with plenty of room to play. They are always out and about with one of two other little children; whether it is to a playgroup, park, garden centre, or popping into town. He nearly always has someone of a similar age to play with. Abi ensures he eats well and keeps a diary of what he has been doing each day, what he has eaten etc...
Abi clearly demonstrates her experience and skills by confidently looking after my son and is not phased by much at all! She is able to deal with any of the "terrible two" behavioural challenges my son brings to her, and nurtures the good behaviour he shows. Abi has been brilliant with being flexible in fitting around my shift work.
Due to practical reasons we are unable to keep Abi as our childminder. It is such a shame. Especially due to the loving and trusting relationship my son has with her. I would highly recommend Abi as a childminder.

Abi has been my child minder since my daughter was 6mths, abi was absolutely fantastic when my daughter had some issues abi helped us work through these, which I can't thank her enough. Now my daughter is 5 and a half and absolutely loves her time there and the fun they have. Highly recommend her.

Abi has been our childminder for the past two years, looking after both of our son's. Fortunately for us my work arrangements became flexible and we therefore no longer required childcare for the boys. It was therefore with a heavy heart that we had to part ways with Abi, and I feel it only fair to leave this review for anyone seeking a wonderful childminder! Abi has always provided a safe, fun and loving environment for our children who were always happy to stay with her. Not only that but Abi has always communicated well with myself and my husband and I am now pleased to call her a friend. I guarantee that if you are lucky enough to have Abi take care of your precious child/children you will not have any regrets, she really is a fantastic childminder.
