About Me

My name is Sarah, I am a married mother of 2 children, well one is 31 years, he won't thank me for calling him my child ! I have another daughter of 15 years, big age gap I know. We have 2 cats that are very good with the children, 1 golden retriever who loves the children and is very tolerant. He loves nothing more than joining in with tea parties. 8 chickens who the children love. We collect the eggs each morning and I teach the children about feeding and caring for the animals.
I often have to pet sit my son’s tortoise and Guinea pigs, the cause great excitement in the house. We have a large garden with lots of outdoor equipment, scooters, bikes, mud/garden kitchen, playhouse, swings. We have outdoor connect 4, dominos, Jenga and chess. There is a wooden teepee which we use as a reading area, I’m also in the process of constructing a dinosaur area (big fans of dinosaurs here) We also have an outdoor easel which the children can use to create their masterpieces. This is to ensure children can access areas of the curriculum both indoors and outdoors.
I make my own play dough, we have lots of paints and crafty type of equipment. Boxes of trains, happy land play houses and shops. Bundles of books to suit most ages. We have a large dolls house, dollies, building bricks and educational toys.
We grow vegetables as part of the learning process, planting the seeds and watching our vegetables grow and the hopefully eating the end result. At the moment we are growing potatoes, tomatoes and carrots. We also have apples and grapes growing in the garden.
I have an annual pass for both Marwell Zoo and Manor Farm/Country Park.
I am also able to do drop and collection at Bursledon schools.
