Warm, Professional, and Truly Caring

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Farj and her mom, Nano, as childminders for our 1-year-old daughter, Rita. From the very first day, Rita has loved being with them — she smiles the moment we ring their doorbell. The atmosphere is always warm, loving, and professional.

As first-time parents, we’ve felt fully supported by both Farj and Nano, especially during some early challenges around Rita’s sleep. Their experience, patience, and care made a huge difference when we were feeling a bit lost.

Rita is always engaged in a range of fun, thoughtful indoor and outdoor activities, and we love receiving regular photo updates that show just how happy and curious she is in their care.

Farj’s parents (Nano’s husband and wife team) are often there too, and they are both wonderful with the children — Rita clearly adores them all. We feel 100% safe and confident leaving her there every day.

We truly couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Home from home

Farjaha and assistants (her parents) have been caring for one or both of our children for over 5 years now. We were lucky to find her and have no hesitation recommending the setting. Our kids have always been very happy there and we really value the partnership we have with Farj as we navigate the changing needs of our kids together.

Wonderful Childminder

My daughter came to this setting for 2 years, from the age of 10 months. I have to say we all loved Farj and the setting, especially our daughter. Farj always communicated with us very well about all aspects of our daughters care, and made us feel calm and secure when settling in. The setting is a happy place and I know our daughter learned alot there and was stimulated with lots of play and creative activities based on the seasons and different religious festivals. Best of all Farj and her assistants cared for our daughter with compassion and kindness and that means so much. We highly recommend this setting and wish we had never had to leave.

Great childminder!

Farjaha is a great childminder to my daughter. She loves the time spent with Farjaha and the other children and is always excited to go round. I always feel like she is in safe hands and Farjaha is great at updating me on her development and what activities she does each day.

Professional and child centred

I placed my twins with Farjaha and her assistants 18 months ago. I feel very reassured by the standard of care the children have received. In my experience all of the carers love children and enjoy what they do. They are conscientious people providing a warm and welcoming environment within which to care for the children.

My children have formed good relationships with the minders and the other children in their care. There are plentiful opportunities for the children to learn and play and Farjaha has a good understanding of children's development.

When I collect my children, they are always happy to have spent the day and look forward to returning. In the past I have recommended Farjaha to friends looking for childcare and would do so again.

Professional, approachable and kind

I have recently gone back to work and my 15-month-old daughter is currently looked after by Farjaha and her assistants. I saw several childminders before choosing Farj. I was impressed by her professionalism, her child development activities and by the setting, which is a spacious and clean family home. One of the factors that also made me decide to place my daughter with her, was the fact that her assistants are her parents. They are, of course, fully registered and checked, and their presence makes Farj's set-up a family environment, which I really appreciate and my daughter loves. I was very nervous about leaving my daughter for the first time, but Farj really helped me feel calm and reassured, and she tailored the settling in period to suit our needs. As a result, my daughter has settled in well and comes home happy and stimulated. She also seems to be developing her social and mobility skills really well under Farj's care.

Always wonderful

I have 2 handsome boys Akinlolu and Abiola who have been cared for by Farj( as I call her *smiles*) since I first went back to school in 2014 after so long at home. My initial fear of leaving my boys in the hands of anyone else other than myself was erased right from day one because I remember rushing back without attending my last lecture for that day as I was worried and on getting to the setting to pick my boys up I saw them enjoying themselves. And it has been a wonderful time ever since. Children are not easy to please even in their own homes but somehow someway I believe with experience, skill, patience and all Farj has been able to do that for my boys. At the end of last term, I told my boys they may not be going back to Farj because she may be moving and my boys cried and cried. Thank God movement was shelved and they are back with Farj, oh how excited they were. Her parents are her registered and trained assistants who have always been kind and warm hearted. I have gone back to Farjaha Khamkar every year because she meets my boys needs and mine too to the fullest of her ability. I will therefore recommend her absolutely.

I am Andrea Pahor parent of Maya Blanca Rakhely. She is my 3.5 years old daughter. I know Farjaha Khamkar since 3 year when I sarted to go back to work.
When me meet her for the first time Maya was only 10 months old. Farjaha was very nice with us and the house was also beautiful and safe for our baby. She had all the trainings and skill what needed also her assistances. We meet her parents as well and I accepted they will also take care my little one when need as offsted assistance.
From the beginning we worked together with Farjaha she helped me with feeding properly, potty training, living healthy, later drop and pick her up from school. Whe had some problems with Maya's eating when she was 2 years old. Farjaha sometimes was sitting with her more than 1 hour to make sure she was eaten enough. I saw Maya is happy she loves to go there also loves Farjaha's Mom and Dad. She called them Granpa and Granma.
During the 3 years I had terrible time when I got single last year. I could count always on Farjaha. Sometimes she took her when she suppouse to be off to work because she knew I had to work.
Always was clear her policy. I knew why and how much I have to pay. If I had a worst period and I couldn't pay full ammount when she was on holiday she gave me discount or she said don't pay for some days.
I'm really happy with her and her families job and service. I couldn't ask for better childminder.

DO NOT USE HER!!

I would not recommend this child minder.

Used her for 2 weeks, and wouldn't use her again!
Furthermore, I have reported her to Ofstead for investigation.

Firstly, she'll make you sign a contract and keep the yellow copy which she should provide to the Paent on the date of signatory, a legal requirement.
In my case, she only handed me the yellow copy when I questioned her about charging for a day she took off for Eid, she didn't tell me prior to taking my 2 children on that she would charge for her holidays, she only advised me that she would charge me if my children took a day off.
Even when I advised her that I was due at work she didn't care, she didn't offer any alternative and said that I still had to pay her!
She charged me to spend time with her family.
When I questioned her it was that day she handed me the yellow copy and fraudulently added in her holiday pay - devious! The contract has clearly been amended!
On the day of handing me the copy contract she asked me to fill in a form which should have been completed prior to taking on my children, the form required key medical notes, including vaccinations and allergies, should an emergency occur.
I refused to fill this out as it was day 8 of looking after my children, I challenged her on why she was asking for these details now, she didn't like that. She said that when myself and sister-in-law visited her house to sign the contract we were busy chatting or 'something' and forgot, I questioned her on this and stated that you are the childminder, you know what forms are required to be filled out prior to taking on children and it is your responsibility to ensure that this happens, not me! She very quickly changed the subject and advised me that 'I am a mother of 3 and these vaccinations, I'm sure have been done' - I didn’t complete the form in nor did I sign it.

My youngest likes to drink milk through a feeder which she was shocked and rude about.

She didn't supply milk, which costs 89p and would last a week, or just over.

She didn't warm my child's milk, he hates cold milk, furthermore she said she did, lied about it! Which lead my child to have a cold, and upset stomach!
20 secs in the microwave and she couldn’t do this.

She gave a bruised apple to my child which he brought home, I was astonished how someone could do that.

She claims that her parents are registered helpers - something which Ofstead will investigate, however she failed to notify me of this.

Late twice to collect my youngest from school, lost track of time was her excuse, not good enough!

My child was so upset, the teachers had to spend time with him to calm him down as all the school children had left.
When I advised her that he was upset she didn't care and quickly changed the subject.

She got her dad to collect my boy twice, didn't tell me, my boy did.
I questioned the school and they said that she had notified them prior, failed to notify me, I advised the school not to release him to the dad as I'm not aware if he is registered or not.
Furthermore, my youngest is 3 and the teacher advised on the days that the father collected her he was upset - I ensured this didn’t happen again.

Her demeanour and the way she spoke to me was belittling.

She asked personal questions about my sister-in-law, which was worrying, she wanted to know whether she was married and had kids, to pass judgement on my sister-in-law's handling of my sons - she had no right.

I am flabbergasted with her approach to childminding, she speaks down to you as though your one of the children she looks after.

I will await Ofstead's investigation and revert back to update.

However may I clarify that you have clearly misrepresented yourself as the mother to the children that I cared for 2 weeks when in actual fact you are their Aunty. You have also sent all of your grievances to me via text messages to which I have responded. You have a copy and I have a copy.
