About Me
Hi, my name is Sarah Sheanon and i live with my husband and 11 year old daughter in South Canterbury, within walking distance to both the city center and Canterbury hospital. I'm and NNEB Nursery practitioner with over 20 years experience of working within the early years sector. Throughout this time i have built up an extensive knowledge of child development ranging from caring for new born babies up to school age children. This experience ensures I'm able to provide children with the necessary care and encouragement to go on to be confident, happy independent learners.
As a childminder I'm dedicated to creating a home from home atmosphere, while making sure that children are provided with a safe and stimulating environment with lots of activities that are adaptable to each child's age and needs. I'm a big supporter of the outdoor environment providing a rich learning scope for young children so a lot of what we do extends to the outdoors and at various groups for the early years in the community. A play based curriculum centers round activities that focus on the development of the whole child to stimulate and support their social, emotional,physical , intellectual and language development.
I monitor children's development through regular observations that are linked to the early years foundation framework. These are used to create a 'Learning Journey' so i can plan the child's next steps and work in partnership with parents to enable each child to reach their full potential. I'm a lively energetic individual and i find children fun stimulating and extremely entertaining!.
My Experience
Over the last 20 years iv' e worked in both the private and public sector as a private nanny and for a large Nursery chain. For the last 5 years Iv'e run a Successful childminding business. I hold an up to date paediatric first aid certificate and safe guarding training.I attend regular CPD early years training. Finally I'm registered with 'Tax Free' childcare and also offer the two and 3 year funding incorporating the 30 hour childcare funding.

Open University certificate in heath and social welfare.
