Our Summary
Flexible Childcare 52 Weeks A Year To Support Parents Requirements.
About Us
My name is Christine, and I have been a Childcarer for over 21 years.
At present, I am working towards my BA in Early Years .
I have opened up a childcare facility in Shirebrook. It offers a nursery with flexible childcare as well as an out of school and holiday club. We are the only local setting open 5 days a week to support shift patterns.
This environment is great for children of all ages and abilities, having disabled access throughout the building.
This environment offers older children the opportunity to interact with a large amount of activities such as heuristic play that are age and stage appropriate. We have recently added a new baby room and rearranged the other rooms to offer a really unique setting. We will offer a range of food and drinks as well as outings in the holiday. All food is freshly made on site daily.
The younger children have opportunities to explore and develop in a highly stimulating environment with lots of age and stage appropriate activities.
The setting has 24-hour cctv on site in all rooms to allow parents/carers to have peace of mind as well as keep the environment safe.
Awarded and gained national highly commended 2008 Childminder of the year by Nursery world and runner up for the 4 Children s charity in 2008.I gained finalist for Childminder of the year 2010 for Nursery world.
I live with my husband Lee, who is NVQ 3 trained in childcare and two children, Stephen is 26 years, and Francesca is 22 years old.
The setting is run by a fantastic Manager Nicole. She has numerous amount of experience in childcare and managing a business.
We make regular outings and trips during holiday time, which are extra to the hourly price. Children have the opportunity to enjoy play in a loving and welcoming home environment.
We regularly plan to meet the needs of all children with the support of parents and carers. Due to us having our learning journals online, it gives parent/carers the opportunity to view information about their child such as daily diaries, observations, photos and in return parent/carers can interact online with their child's key worker and upload any relevant information they have on their child. It allows us to develop a whole picture of each child. Throughout the year, each of the rooms will have a coffee morning/parents evening so you can spend time with the key worker and explore your child's progress in learning and development.
We also welcome children with all additional/ special educational needs and those from different cultures and backgrounds.
We have a vast amount of experience with multiple births and children with Autism, Adhd, Aspherger's, PDA, behaviour issues, and Downs syndrome.
We also have extensive knowledge and experience with bilingual children.
All staff are paediatric first aid trained and regularly undertake additional training. All my childcarers are minimum NVQ level two trained in childcare.
FREE 9 month to 5 YEAR OLD FUNDED PLACES AVAILABLE IN A HOME FROM HOME ENVIRONMENT.
Have you got access to the extended entitlement so you can access 30 hours free for your child, BUT CAN NOT USE ALL OF IT AS YOUR CURRENT SETTING DOESN'T OFFER IT. Why not split your hours and do the other 15 hours with us. The only extra charge would be £5.00 per day if we have to pick up or drop off your child either at school or home.

Both of my children have gone to Chestnuts Childcare. The employees have been fantastic with both my children especially my daughter who at times requires extra support. They have an app so you can track what your child’s been doing which is great. They always inform you of what they have/haven’t ate while being in their care.
I sometimes require late notice hours due to the nature of my job and Chestnuts always try their best to accommodate. I’m thankful that they’re close to home and reliable, it makes being away from my children that little bit easier knowing they’re being taken care of by such lovely people.

I’ve been with chestnuts for the past 5 years and I can not fault them. They have been so supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble. It’s been lovely to see my little boy grow and the things he’s made will be something I will treasure. Overall an amazing nursery with a dedicated team to ensure your child reaches their full potential 😁😁

Chestnut Childcare are absolutely fabulous! I placed my daughter in full time when she was 6 months old and she truly loves it :)
It is a nursery enviroment with a family ethic, this means that I truly feel like my daughter is getting the time, attention and (most importantly of all) the care that she needs. Chestnut's are so supportive and friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble!
They support their caring and sensitive enviroment with a learning programme so you can be sure that your child is developing and at the right speed.
I really wouldn't consider using anybody else!

We had tried other childcare places in the area, and none met our requirements. We in fact pulled our son out of one because of complaints about his behaviour and him apparently needing "anger management" quite ridiculous he is 3. He and his older brother (after school) have been with Chestnuts for nearly a month now and we have only good things to say about their cheery, good natured but firm approach to childcare. It is clear that this business, focussed at the owner's home in a child-loving atmosphere, provides a stimulating and interesting environment for both our boys.
