We are Claire Meades and Tracey Hunt (Carlton Childcare). We are OFSTED registered childminder's that work together to create a home from home, warm, loving environment for children aged 0-5 years old.
About us:
Claire
I am a mother of 2 boys, who are 14 years and 12 years old.
I have been a childminder for 11 years, prior to childminding, I worked at Boots the Chemist Head Office. Being a childminder enables me to work from home, plus do something I enjoy. Having gained new skills as a parent I feel I can offer these and develop new skills, I also have a level 3 diploma in Childcare.
Having used a childminder for my eldest son when I returned back to work, I can empathise with how tough and emotional it is to leave your child in the care of others you trust.
Tracey
I am a mother of 3 boys, aged 17,13 and 11 years old.
I have worked with young children for over 20 years, before childminding I was a Primary School Teacher working with Reception and Key Stage 1 children. I became a childminder 13 years ago and love every minute of it.
Having been a teacher I use my expertise to develop our curriculum for each individual child and their developmental milestones.
We work together from both of our homes, with dedicated playrooms for the children to do lots of different activities. Each activity is adapted, as necessary, to suit all children's ages and development e.g. messy play, arts and crafts, cooking and lots more. For our older children we provide preschool sessions to help get them ready for school. We also have child friendly gardens with a variety of equipment.
We attend local toddler groups, singing/reading groups and libraries a few times a week, giving children the chance to mix with others. We live close to many different parks, giving us the opportunity to do lots of outdoor activities including forest school activities.
We have excellent transport links to the city centre, with regular buses on our doorstep.
Opening times are
Monday - Thursday
07.30 - 17.30
We offer funded places, with no extra charges.

My daughter has been going to Claire and Tracey for 3 months now and they have been fantastic. She started just before her first birthday but sadly we are moving to another part of Nottingham and so I have to find somewhere new for her to go. The only part of moving house I am worried about is leaving behind such kind and caring childminders- I have never picked my daughter up when she has been anything other than happy and laughing. I would highly recommend them to anyone- a perfect balance of professional and caring in a family environment. They take the children out and make sure they are always entertained, they write me a daily diary so I now what has been going on and when I first left my daughter sent me photos and updates so I never needed to worry. Will be very sad to have to move her.
