My Summary
About Me
I live with my husband and three daughters in a large semi-detached Victorian house on the outskirts of Ellesmere Park and within 0.5 miles of Salford Royal Hospital and M602 junction 2.
I am committed to providing a happy and safe environment to children in my care and will give each child the opportunity to play, learn and develop whilst enjoying their time spent with me.
Whilst in my care your child will be able to play, explore, experiment, get creative and above all else have fun. I have a dedicated playroom with an extensive range of toys and resources for all age groups and children will also have access to a large secure rear garden. We enjoy lots of craft activities and messy play to stimulate imagination, explore senses and refine fine motor skills. I firmly believe books are fundamental to all areas of learning and ensure we have daily reading sessions and often link activities around stories to extend a child's learning and interest. We practice lots of sensory play and my setting is focused on providing a wide selection of natural resources. I regularly update my playroom displays and toy selections to ensure your child will continually have opportunities to learn and progress to their next stage of development.
My setting has a strong emphasis on emotional and physical wellbeing and I offer children the opportunity to express their feelings through music and movement and relaxation exercises. I provide healthy meals and snacks throughout the day respecting a child's dietary and cultural food requirements.
I believe all children should have equal opportunities and given the chance to achieve their full potential regardless of their ability, gender, race or religion and I offer a range of multicultural and age appropriate resources in order to achieve this. Your child will have the choice to join in our planned adult led activities or opt for free play with accessible toys, books etc.
I like to keep our days/weeks varied and my setting constantly evolving with new exciting topics, new experiences and plan themed activities alongside play focusing on your child’s interests. We spend lots of time going for walks exploring nature, visiting places of interest and building on a child's cultural capital. We have a weekly visit to a baby and toddler group where children can grow in confidence and socialise with other children of similar ages as well as integrating with different backgrounds and cultures.
I endeavour to work alongside parents and other settings such as nurseries to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure children are working towards the Early Years Goals for the birth to five age group. I provide parents with a comprehensive termly assessment so we can work together on your child's next steps and welcome feedback from parents and make time to discuss your child's progress.
I will continue to undertake training and professional development to ensure I am up to date with all current legislation and practices and my setting complies with Ofsted regulations.
Ultimately my aim is for your child to enjoy their time with me, learning and developing whilst having lots of fun. I want you to feel happy and relaxed at leaving them in my care and aim to build a trusting relationship between both child and parents.
My Experience
