About Me
A childminder based in Colliers Wood. My name is Daksha Vyas and I have been a registered Ofsted childminder for 30+ years and have vast experience in having developed and cared for children over the years. I am based in Colliers Wood, London.
I am committed to providing a fun, friendly and safe environment for the children in my care and have attended many courses and continue to attend courses to ensure that I drive to provide children with stimulating learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development through play and every day experiences. These courses have also allowed me to ensure that I have all the necessary skills and qualities required to give children the best possible care and development.
I understand that each child is an individual and treat them with care, empathy and respect. I provide a nutritious and balanced diet, encouraging the children to make healthy food choices. I believe in working in partnership with parents; welcoming ideas and encouraging parents to give me regular feedback to give the child the best possible upbringing. I run my setting professionally in a fun and engaging setting which is local to library, soft play, farm and local parks.
I currently pick up and drop off children at Singlegate Primary School. I am less than 5 mins walk from Colliers Wood tube station and local bus stops.
I am committed to providing a reliable service that parents can depend on and in which they can place their confidence. My sister Jasumati Thaker is also a registered childminder who sometimes works alongside me giving the children in my care extra attention and care. I received an overall grade of 'Good' in my latest Ofsted report and the report stated, "The childminder knows the children well and meets their individual needs."
My Experience
As a Registered Childminder I can provide care for children from birth to twelve years old in a home environment. I am happy to take on any child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. Overall, my ability to track and observe children well alongside with over 27 years experience in the field will help me to ensure that any child in my care has the best possible upbringing, development and care.

Daksha has been looking after my son since he was a toddler. She has provided excellent care in a fun, healthy and nurturing environment. She provides care tailored to each child individual needs and is very good organizing activities to support children's development in a fun way. I recommend her to other parents.

My daughter was with Daksha from age 1 till 5, we've only stopped using Daksha because we've moved out of the area, but still use her when we come back to London!
I would highly recommend her services, she has been so supportive to me and my daughter since we started going to her. She is very caring and always puts the childs needs first, she always takes them out and makes sure they are busy all day. Her food is home cooked and delicious (my daughter tells me!), her home is perfect for the children to play with plenty of open space inside and out.
She is flexible with arrangements and will always try and accommodate any changes, and her location is perfect as it so close to the tube station to make pick up / drop offs easy.
I would thoroughly recommend Daksha and happy to provide references.

I have known Daksha for nine years as she has looked after both my daughters, for after school and school holiday childcare. They liked going to her house and especially enjoyed the great home-cooked food and the various activities on offer. Daksha provides a warm, nurturing, safe environment and I would definitely recommend her care. She is also very flexible and the location is great.

Daksha has a very friendly and calm approach with kids, so they warm to her quickly. She often has a few children at school pick up time and they all get along so nicely.
Daksha has looked after my 2 boys (aged 1 and 3) for about a year now and they absolutely love going there. She keeps them busy with trips to soft play, playgrounds and the library, and they enjoy playing in her garden when the weather is nice. Her living room and dining area is open plan going onto the garden, which I think works really well for the kids.
Daksha makes home cooked meals and takes food out for the kids when going out. I always feel at ease knowing they are looked after so well by her.

Daksha has looked after my little boy since he was 1 year old, he is now 3.5. He settled in really well and absolutely loved going to her house. Daksha is a wonderful childminder, she is more like granparent to the kids. Her and her family look after the children so well. Daksha does so much with the children and they are kept so busy all day long and Daksha feeds them the most delicious food too! My son learnt so much from all the activities they did together. My son still goes to Daksha now even in the holidays, as does his older brother. I would not hesitate to recommend Daksha to anyone, I just wish we had found her sooner so my older son could have gone to her when he was little! Overall we are very happy to have found Daksha to help look after our kids.

My son has been with Daksha since he was 11 months old (now almost 7) and as parents, we're so happy that we found Daksha.
We were looking for home based care to provide one on one care for our son in a safe and nurturing environment. Daksha has been brilliant and is always happy to provide support along our parenting journey but more importantly, our son has and still does really enjoy heading to her house.
Daksha provides a safe and nurturing environment - whether that is at her home or out on local adventures. She understands the needs of each individual child and works with the parents to assist and provide support.
I would thoroughly recommend Daksha and happy to provide references.

I have sent my son to Daksha since he was 13 months old and he loves it. Daksha’s house has a homely feel and local to his school which is a real benefit. He enjoys playing with his friends here but also loves the various trips that he has been whether that has been to the library or local play groups with Daksha. Being so close to the tube station is great as I can collect my son on the way home from work.
