About Me
Helping Hands childcare helps parents feel safe and secure whilst away from their child/ren within a home-based environment. Within my setting we understand the importance of our responsibilities to meet the children’s individual needs, following the requirement of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2017 and have in place up-to-date policy and procedures, risk assessments, daily child attendance register’s and Ofsted reports to the take necessary steps to ensure the children within our care are being safeguarded and to promote the children’s welfare and good health.
Helping Hands Childcare endeavours to provide children fun, happy, exciting, stimulating opportunities that reflects their age and development stages to learn and explore the environment’s around them. I and my Early Years Practitioners enjoy helping children reach their individual learning developments and help support families when they need with care, empathy and respect.
Within our early years environment, we support children in taking calculated risks within their learning to contribute positively towards children’s physical development we look at children development and track their new-found abilities through observations completing the 2year development check to make sure children are developing within their age and stage bonds and looking to identify any learning or development delay that needs support with.
We provide many fantastic expericence from outings, toys, games, homemade outdoor sensory shed, walking boards, pallets that children jump off, mud garden with no natural utensils, our indoor playroom provides math and english resouces, printed materials, we sing a lot of songs that support children with language, being physical and interacting within a group. Homemade sensory board and treasure basket encourging children’s motor skills and many different toys that are provided to support children within the seven areas of Learning and Development within the early education and learning in our homebased childcare environment.
My Experience
I have Experience with children from all ages different background and culture. I have been a registered child-minder for 22 years which has involved looking after babies, young children and older children, doing pick-ups and drop off from nursery, pre-school and schools, making sure the children are safe and feel happy within HHCS care. I have also had experience with children having disabilities.

Helping Hands Childminders are the best childminders in the world and we love them so much!
Our little girl had an awful start to her childcare journey not settling at nursery at all at 2 years.
She then came to Sharon and Tony and the amount of work and care and love and effort they have put into her settling and development is astonishing.
She is leaving in April (she is 3 now) to start a pre - school next to her school and we are absolutely gutted that she has to leave! She is now a very confident and forward little girl ready to take on the next challenges!
She has learnt SO much there: counting, colors, her speech, understanding and ability to interact with adults and children has developed immensely, and most of all she has learnt impeccable manners. We get comments daily on how amazingly polite and well spoken she is. And that is down to Sharon and Tony and their lovely team. They cater for each individual child's need with time and effort tailored to each of them.
The kids have so many activities within which they also learn, such as mixing colors, baking, Christmas and Halloween special, colors of each season - the list is endless!
And most of all the have SO MUCH FUN every day and feel safe, looked after and cared for in the safe and secure and impeccably clean house, which is also so homely and inviting.
The outdoor area is outstanding; full of activities and fun stuff for the kids. They grow their own vegetables, play and learn in the playhouse, play in the sandpit or on the swings or the climbing frames Tony is constantly updating the play area so there is always new things for them to do. It couldn’t be better!
Chelsea and Chanel work there alongside Sharon and Tony and they are all so helpful, kind, warm and knowledgeable. The communication is AMAZING too and Sharon sends pictures and videos throughout the day of Ruby’s fun moments, which we love.
She also updates daily throughout the day of learning and activities, what food has been served, how ruby has been in the day etc. So we know each evening what her day has been like.
Anyone who gets a space at Helping Hands is very very lucky and you will not want to leave.

Sharon and Co have looked after my daughter for over 2 years now since she was 10months old. I've used other childcare service providers in the past for my older daughter when she was little and I also work in the field of children and families, so I know good practice when I see it. What can I say they are absolutely amazing, my daughter has come on leaps and bounds, learnt so much and loves Sharon and Co as if it were her own family. There's no better feeling leaving your child and knowing that they are safe and well cared for. My daughter loves going, she enjoys all the learning activities, flossy the little dog, the lovely garden and toys and the regular day trips to the parks amongst other places. Sharon has so much energy and is always positively infused when working. Thank you so much, highly recommended.

My 3yr son has been with Sharon for the last 16 months.
I have 2 other children and they both went to nursery, this was my first time using a childminder and I was unsure at first. The first time I went to meet Sharon and Tony, I was so surprised how friendly and kind they were. It felt like being at families. My son even called them nanny and grandad lol at first, Which shows how instantly comfortable he was.
The setting it's self is on the level of a nursery, the play room is well equipped and the garden is brilliant. Tony regularly changes what the kids have in the garden. They have sensory equipment, planting and even bug watching.
They go on regular trips. But when they are in the house they always do fun and learning activities.as well as Sharon and Tony they also have Chanel working with them and she is so sweet, kind and the kids love her.
The house is spotless. This is something I always look out for and there was not 1 occasion were the house was unclean in anyway.

My daughter Lola is now 3, and has been looked after by Sharon for 2 days per week since she was 9 months old. Sharon’s setting is amazing! A beautiful playroom that she is always updating, plus a stunning garden where the children grow their own vegetables, play in the sensory garden and even a mud kitchen! On hot days she even gets out a paddling pool with a gazebo to cover it for shade.
She received a Good rating from Ofsted this year (not sure why it doesn’t list that) but it should have been Outstanding in my opinion.
Sharon is warm, loving and treats my daughter with such care and attention. Lola loves going to Sharon’s and misses her if we go on holiday!
