My Summary
About Me
Waiting list open - No availability for under 8's until September 2027
My Vision
My goal is to provide an environment that is safe, fun, and inspiring, where all children are encouraged to grow, explore, and thrive. I believe that every child is exceptional, and I aim to nurture their individuality through meaningful experiences and positive interactions.
My Curriculum
I follow a child-centred approach that supports learning through play, creativity, and exploration. My curriculum is designed to:
• Foster independence and confidence through self-chosen activities.
• Encourage social skills and teamwork through group play and shared experiences.
• Support early literacy and numeracy with books, puzzles, and problem-solving games.
• Nurture a love for nature and the outdoors with regular outdoor play and local outings.
• Inspire creativity and self-expression through arts, crafts, music, and imaginative play.
Each child is unique, and I tailor activities to their interests and developmental needs, working closely with parents to provide the best possible start in life.
My Setting, Health & Wellbeing
Children in my care enjoy a wide variety of creative, child-led, and free play activities, allowing them to explore, learn, and develop at their own pace. I provide a diverse range of resources, including toys, books, games, puzzles, and dressing-up items to encourage imagination. Sensory and creative play are supported through arts, crafts, playdough, and musical instruments.
Outdoor play is an essential part of my setting, and I have a large, secure garden equipped with ride-on toys, ball games, hoops, a sandpit, water play, a climbing frame, and a playhouse, offering endless opportunities for fun and exploration. For digital play, I have a Switch gaming console, with playtime agreed upon with parents beforehand.
We also take part in community activities, including a local church group where children can enjoy storytime, singing, and crafts. I plan regular outings to the local park, woods, soft play centres, and other engaging environments to support social and physical development.
I am committed to providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for all children. My setting has been awarded 5 out of 5 for Food Hygiene, and I am part of the Smoke-Free Home scheme, achieving the highest GOLD rating in my last inspection. I also ensure children have time to relax and unwind, whether by reading a book or watching a short film in a calm space.
I strive to create a welcoming and homely atmosphere where children feel happy, secure, and valued.
My Experience
Who am I
Hi, I’m Lyndsay! I live in the lovely village of Skellingthorpe with my husband Alex, our two amazing children, Jacob and Evie May, and our two playful pups—Hetti the boxer and Luna the Frenchton. We are lucky to call a beautiful 1865 cottage our forever home, with plenty of space inside and out for children to play, explore, and make wonderful memories.
I've always had a passion for working with children, and in September 2010, I made my dream a reality by setting up my childminding business. Since then, I’ve had the absolute joy of caring for little ones from 6 months up to 12 years old, watching them grow, learn, and develop their own unique personalities.
Before this, I had an exciting career in the sport and leisure industry, starting as a gym instructor and working my way up to managing a private health club. I’ve taught children to swim both in the UK and America, and I also worked in education, helping schools plan training for their teachers.
Over the years, I’ve been inspected by Ofsted three times, and each time I’ve been rated Good.

My daughter often takes quite a while to get used to a new environment but by the second day she had been to Lyndsay’s she was happy and extremely excited to go there again. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Lyndsay. It’s a lovely setting, house and garden. Lyndsay and her family are so welcoming, it’s such a comfort to know my daughter is in a caring and happy environment each week. The children are often taken to parks and special outings. I get photographs and updates throughout the day. My daughter will be very sorry to stop going to Lyndsay’s when she starts school, she’ll miss her visits very much. ☹️

Lyndsay looked after my son when I returned to work full time.
He went to her from 0830-1700 Monday to Friday.
He was always happy to be left with her in the mornings and reluctant to leave in the evenings as he was having so much fun.
She would do lots of different activities with the children in her care and take them on outings. He was always learning new skills with Lyndsay and could count to 10 at a very early age which was all down to her patience and enthusiasm with the children in her care.
She was great in maintaining the routine that I had got him into for naps and mealtimes.
The only reason that we had to take him out of Lindsay's care is because we left the area, we would have gladly taken her with us if we could.

:-) Thank you Nikki for this lovely review. I loved looking after Jackson and miss him lots.
Tell him chicken says "hi"
Hopefully speak to you both soon x
Lyndsey has been my child mind for a number of years looking after my 3 children. Lyndsey is a very caring, understanding, generous and wonderful lady that loves her job and it shows in the care that not only she gives her own children but the children she looks after as well. She has helped my children's development throughout the years and my children loved lyndsey and the care she gave them. I would recommend Lyndsey to anyone looking for a childminder she is the best in the area and I'm very sad to leave her as I no longer require a childminder.

Lyndsay has been a fantastic childminder to my daughter who was 11 months old when she started. I cannot fault the care that she has received. Lyndsay has helped my daughter develop in every way and kept track of everything so that I could see what fun she was having without me! She has been flexible when I have needed it and always did everything that I asked her to do as well as offering me lots of invaluable advice if I asked. My daughter has had so much fun during the 11 months that she was there and she loved Lyndsay and her family (including Hettie the dog!). We will miss her a lot.

Thank you so much for your review Lindsay. I have loved looking after Poppy and welcoming her in to my family. she is an amazing little girl and I will miss not seeing her everyday. Are you sure you don't want to move to Lincoln too?? :-)
Lyndsay has been my childminder since september 2010. She looked after my son who is now 7 and daughter who is now 4. My daughter has special needs and learning difficulties but this was never a problem for lyndsay. She always included her in all activities. Lyndsay provides a safe and fun environment for all the children she looks after and is always fair when sorting disputes between children on the rare occasion they arosed. My children will miss going before and after school.

Lyndsay has childminded my son since he was 9 months old and my 6 year old daughter, after school, since September 2012. I've always been more than happy with everything Lyndsay does with my children. She has been there for our son to help him develop into a happy, friendly little boy, Lyndsay mirrors what I am doing at home with him, currently potty training and he has come on with it so much, which I credit Lyndsay for. Both of my children have settled in with Lyndsay and been happy in her care from day one! I'm so lucky to have Lyndsay as a childminder, both children flourish with her, I know they're happy and having fun with her when they ask if it's a "Lyndsay Day" on a Saturday! From fun days in the house to exploring days in the woods, all of the activities that Lyndsay does with the children help them to develop, without them realising, which is a fantastic quality she possesses. She's friendly, fair, fun and fabulous!
