About Me
Hi, we're Jo Day and Sara Charge, registered childminders with 19 years experience working together as a team. We are both married and have 6 grown up children between us.
We call ourselves "Giggles Childcare" and all our children past and present know us as Giggles! We have looked after over 100 children from the age of under 1 right through to after school ages and over the years we have taken care of many children and then lucky enough to have their siblings so we are honoured to become a part of some of our families lives for many years in some cases. Some of our Giggles Gang children are with us from babies right through to school age and then become after school care and some just short term depending upon parent circumstances.
As there are 2 of us together we can have more children and this allows us to create a mini nursery setting where learning is fun and we do this through structured busy mornings which can be adult or child led as we like to sometimes throw in a splash of spontaneity to our day especially if a child has a good idea we like to follow it through and then we have playful afternoons, making full use of the range of age appropriate toys and equipment we have in our dedicated "Giggles" playroom. Although we try to go out for walks locally and use local facilities, we have the benefit of having a lovely large garden which we use year round and fill with 4 sit in cars and trikes as well as balance boards to practice walking along and slides to whizz down. It gets even better when we have the mud table/water play out and hide in tents or under the large parachute!
On a serious note, we track all our under 5's progress through their play and experiences with us and use daily observations to create learning journeys when they join Giggles which follow the EYFS and ensure each child is encouraged to progress and develop under our care. All our inspection outcomes have been good and outstanding and we were awarded outstanding again at our last inspection which we are very very proud of. We have many references from parents to show you.
We walk to and pick up from Robertswood school/nursery.
My Experience
We have been childminding for 20 years and frequently attend core subject courses such as child protection and 12 hour first aid courses. We receive emails regarding updates in the childcare world which help us stay current with any updates and changes.
My Qualifications
CACHE Level 2 childcare, Food and Hygiene Safety (updated regularly), 12 hours paediatric first aid (every 3 years), Safeguarding(updated regularly)
My Availability
We currently work Monday to Wednesday 8am to 6pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
Our fees are £7 per hour and include drinks, snacks in the morning and afternoon and a home made cooked meal and pudding at lunchtime.
We offer before and after school care.
We are registered to offer 15/30 hour free government childcare.
We are registered for most company childcare voucher schemes
