About Me
Rated Good by Ofsted and passionate about providing the highest level of home based childcare, I specialise in providing pre-school care and play for children aged 9 months to 4 years. Qualified as a pre-school teacher with over 15 years experience as a childminder I seek to provide a rich learning environment in a nurturing, family-like setting where children learn and grown through play.
Born and educated in Poland, I have lived in York since 2003. My setting is fully inclusive and we are blessed to have a number of children who speak other languages in addition to English.
I work with Natalie my assistant but also have my husband - a qualified primary school teacher, - now working for the ambulance service, which I keep for emergencies or when I need an extra person. (Having more assistants registered gives me a little flexibility to cover holidays and when taking the children on outings.)
In addition to our play-based activities, I undertake a simple (Stage 2) phonics program for the older pre-school children to help develop their communication and reading skills in preparation for school.
My most recent published Ofsted inspection (November 2018), described my setting as 'highly accessible, inclusive and stimulating' and the children I care for, being 'exceptionally prepared for school' developing 'vital social and emotional skills'. I have excellent parent feedback. We live on Hamilton Drive West in Acomb / Holgate in the beautiful city of York.
I work from a lovely large bungalow (with a lovely garden!) 8 minutes walk (with children!) from school (Acomb Primary or Our Lady Queen of Martyrs) and 3 minutes from the playground in West Bank Park and our allotment, which we sometimes visit during warmer sunnier weather.
We have just extended our house to create a purpose build playroom to help me further improve the quality of care I deliver.
My Experience
I have worked as a childminder in York for over ten years. I qualified in Poland and worked in Warsaw as a qualified pre-school / reception teacher until I moved to York to be with my husdband. Since moving here I have worked in the DEFRA nursery at Sand Hutton before registering with Ofsted as a childminder in 2008.
My Qualifications
In addition to my masters degree I have the diploma in childcare levels 1, level 3 and SENCo.
I continue to maintain my professional development through attending short courses in the evenings and weekends.
My Availability
I currently have a full time vacancy for a pre-school child from September 2025. Please contact me now if you are interested in a place.
Please note, I provide childcare on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
£55 per day (from 8am to 5:45 pm)
Minimum of 2 days per week.
I offer full days only. Please note I charge in days If you wish to drop off your child later or pick them up earlier, this can be arranged, but I will charge for the full day.
My Local Schools
- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Primary School – a Catholic Voluntary Academy
- I provide pick ups at Acomb Primary School
