My name is Joanne but I like to be called Jo…
I also go by aliases of mum to my children, and Jojo by many children (and their parents)
To be honest I pretty much answer to anything!

I live with my children and my husband. I have been working in childcare since I left college in 1998. I always knew from a young age that I wanted to look after children, helping them to develop into the young people they wanted to become, so I pursued my ambition by studying for my NNEB.

My career has seen me working as a practitioner in large day nurseries, nannying, managing an after school provision and most recently managing a large day care setting. I have experience working with varying ages of children from birth to teenagers. During this time I have completed many training courses such as First Aid, Safeguarding and Makaton which have helped me fulfill my roles. I regularly attend courses as it helps me to develop my practice which in turn helps the children to thrive.

Since having our youngest son, life for us has changed, so felt now is the right time to start working from home whilst allowing me to continue to do what I love most.

We moved into our family home in 2014 and both myself and my husband grew up around the local area, and have extended our house to include a safe and inviting playroom for the children to enjoy and explore.

I co work with Helen who I met when working in a nursery back in 2000.

We are a unique childminding setting in Old Woking with a strong Montessori emphasis and we take children from birth to 12 years+ , open 48 weeks of the year.

Both you and your child will be welcomed into a trusting, nurturing, well organised and relaxing atmosphere. Our setting is equipped with a wide range of learning resources which will meet the needs of all the children in our care.

The environment is arranged to actively engage and intrigue the mind of the child allowing them to access resources as and when they need them, creating an enabling environment for the children as they learn through their play and develop their critical thinking skills in their natural environment.

Where possible we choose natural equipment such as wooden toys and real life resources.

We often take the children out within the local area, to classes such as gymnastics and messy play, toddler groups and we attend forest school each week.
