My daughter Nirvair has been attending Cheeky Cherubs 5 days a week since May 2020 and over the last three years has simply flourished under Harri’s care and support. Harri is incredibly attentive to Nirvair’s needs and has supported her development over the years resulting in a happy, confident and kind little girl.

Nirvair particularly enjoys her days out with Harri to local groups, parks, farms and soft play places. At home, there is a range of varying age appropriate toys and facilities that Nirvair enjoys and it very much feels like home away from home. Nirvair comes home with lovely pieces of work including arts and crafts and I have seen her education develop really well which is well advanced for her age.

Nirvair particularly enjoys learning her numbers and alphabet through fun, innovative games and play, arranged by Harri, which nurtures her need for knowledge. As a full time working mother, my mind is at great ease in the knowledge that Nirvair is learning and creating wonderful friendships with her peers and other support groups. This has all been great in preparing her for school. Harri is a great communicator and has no trouble in gaining Nirvair’s confidence and therefore encouraging good behaviour and kindness and compassion to others, both skills which are important to us at home. When Nirvair is upset, I know that she feels happy to be comforted by Harri.

Harri is incredibly attentive to Nirvair’s dietary requirements and provides a nutritious and healthy diet which includes encouraging Nirvair to try new foods and flavours.

I am also aware that Harri ensures good personal hygiene in encouraging Nirvair to wash her hands before eating and after using the toilet. I’m sure that it is this practice together with the cleanliness of Harri’s home which has ensured that Nirvair has remained healthy. It has been of great comfort to know that my daughter is so well taken care of in a happy, clean and secure environment.

My own relationship with Harri has been wonderful. Harri is incredibly supportive of my needs as a working mum and offers flexibility when required. Communication has been excellent through WhatsApp, at drop off and pick up and a through a diary which summarises Nirvair’s day. From this, I have a complete picture of her whole day including what she has eaten, and all her activities. This helps me to feel involved with her care and that I can talk to Nirvair about her day.

On a personal note, I feel we have found a lifelong friend in Harri and look forward continuing to including her in Nirvair’s milestones. She is literally like a second mum to Nirvair and the level of affection and care she shows towards Nirvair is wonderful to see.

I am really sad that Nirvair is leaving Cheeky Cherubs to attend school, as it has been an imperative part of all our lives. However, Nirvair has had a wonderful experience and has developed into a happy and confident child through Harri’s support and guidance.

I would thoroughly recommend Harri as an outstanding and reliable childminder.

Home from home setting

Harri cared for our son twice a week from December 2017 to June 2019. We would like to thank Harri for all her care for our son, we felt he has had a ‘home from home’ to enjoy.

Sukhi at the start of his placement was a little tearful and Harri gave him lots of cuddle and kept us updated of how he was doing via whatsapp messages and sent pictures to reassure us he was okay after he had settled. We are also kept updated with pictures of Sukhi when they have gone to trips to Willows Farm, Soft Play, Splash Park, and a fun trip to the RAF Museum. For a parent this made me feel a little less guilty that I have left my son when I get to see how much fun he is having with Harri.

Sukhi has always been given a good choice of lunch and snacks with Harri, and we were kept informed of how well he ate each day and his days activities via a communication book for Sukhi. We are happy he had such nice and well-balanced meals with Harri.

Sukhi has enjoyed all the trips, and we are thankful for all the play opportunities experienced with Harri whilst we was working. Sukhi particularly enjoyed his trips to Willows Farm and the play groups where he got to mix with other children too. We often have had comments from family to say how amazing it is Sukhi’s Childminder takes him to such nice places whilst in her care.

Sukhi also was given structured and thought out play activities in Harri’s home and this has also helped his development learning through play. We also felt Harri took time to update us on his progress by giving us reports of his development and also accommodated us to have his speech and language therapist come visit Sukhi whilst in Harri’s setting which helped with his development too.

Fantastic

Harri looked after our 2 children over a period of nearly 4.5 years and throughout our time with Harri we have found her to be reliable, professional and thoroughly committed to her work.

Every day the daily diary would be completed in great detail, making communication smooth and transparent. Harri offered a range of structured activities to aid their learning, as well as free play to enhance their imagination.
During their days with Harri, the children were also taken on a range of outings such as playgroups, local farms, local parks, parties, museums, soft play centers to name a few, during which she always made sure they were appropriately dressed and sun cream etc applied.

Finally, the expert judges of Harri’s wonderful care for the children are of course our children, who have always flourished under her guidance and tuition, loved going to her house and established firm bonds with Harri and also Harri’s own child.

Without meaning to be disrespectful to other, undoubtedly capable, childminders out there we can only say from our point of view, as parents placing their beloved children in her care, that you will be hard pushed to find a more loving, professional, caring and attentive childminder.
