About Me
Hi there, my name is Rachel, I live with my husband and four children in Cranleigh. I have been awarded 'Outstanding' in my latest Ofsted Inspection, June 2022 and previously in November 2016.
Our home offers a safe, engaging environment for children. We are on the Hitherwood estate which is just a minutes’ walk to the park and a further five minutes on to Cranleigh centre and all its amenities.
We have a large downstairs play area, a safe enclosed garden and plenty of toys. I can offer lots of fun, varied activities, with ongoing indoor and outdoor play.
We also have regular outings into Cranleigh and are involved in the wider community. There will be lots of scope to meet other children at playgroups as well as interact with my own children when they are at home.
Everything I aim to offer in our home is child-led. Children are made to feel welcome, to help themselves to toys, direct their play with my support, express their choices in things and really feel at home. They also have individual time with me and organised activities in small groups to support their learning and development.
My Experience
I have been childminding since September 2012. Prior to that, I opted to be at home for our own children. And pre-children I held a number of marketing roles in financial services companies.
My Qualifications
I hold a Certificate in Introduction to Childminding, EYCS Surrey County Council. I also hold the Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Tigerlily Training required for childminding and I am Ofsted registered and CRB approved. I have a full clean UK driving Licence.
I am a member of PACEY and subscribe to E-Bulletins from Surrey Early Years Years, Minding Kids and Childcare.co.uk.
I am qualified with the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce. This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years.
I am currently enrolled on the Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP) to improve my early years understanding and skills to support the development of the most disadvantaged children between the ages of 2 and 4. This study is part of the DFE’s Early years Educations Recovery Programme.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.25 per hour
I charge £8.25 per hour. Included in that price are drinks, snacks and homemade organic meals if desirable.
I try to be flexible and fair in the charges that I make for my time and the services that I provide.
I am registered to receive Tax Free Childcare payments and I accept all types of government funded free childcare (from 9 months to 4 years old).

First of all Rachel's outstanding Ofsted is well deserved!!
She has been looking after my 20 month old since he was 13 months. I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather have my son with. As a parent it's hard to leave your child with anyone and decide to go back to work, Rachel makes it so much easier. She provides him an amazing place to play, learn and develop. He's come on so much since being with her and does and experiences more than I think he would even do at home.
Rachel is a friendly and accommodating person who has a gift for treating every child in a way that gets the best out of them.
My son now treats her house as his own and loves going there 3 days a week and sometimes it's hard to get him to leave at the end of the day.
An added bonus with Rachel is her 4 awesome kids that have such good relationships with all her minded children which is nice for the young ones. They are always so gentle and kind and have a great way of playing and showing the young children new toys and games. My son loves them as much as he does Rachel.
The only downside is what I'm going to do when it's time for him to go to school.

Rachel has been minding my 2 year old son for a couple of days a week for the past 8 months and I couldn't be happier with the level of care she provides. Rachel is very kind and caring with the children but what impresses me the most is how calm and patient she is. She has also played a big part in my sons development by providing a large range of activities as well as socialising with the other children in her care and playgroups. My son is always very happy to see Rachel which in turn makes me happy as I know he is in very good hands. I highly recommend Rachel as a childminder!

Sadly we are moving away and have to end our short time we had with Rachel - we are really going to miss her.
She has been fantastic with our 13 month old son - really attentive, kind and caring. I feel assured that he is being looked after by someone that really cares about him, he is fed well on organic produce and I can a text everyday with updates on how he is doing.
Since joining Rachel we have noticed a huge growth in our sons development - which is amazing over such a short time.
If only we could take Rachel with us!
