During my three years I :
• Spent increasing amounts of time in different schools, moving from support teacher (first year), to sharing teacher (second year), to lead teacher (final year).
• Studied modules to develop both your subject knowledge and your understanding of the art of teaching.
• Gained a solid grounding for working with children, and develop the skills you need to support their learning in practice. The pedagogic and professional studies modules covered learning theory, child development, behaviour management, classroom management, special educational needs (SEN) and English as an additional language (EAL).
•Covered all the National Curriculum subjects. In English, for example, you will look at language development, and the teaching of reading and writing; and in maths, I explored how to develop children’s mathematical understanding.
