my name is Jo, and I have been registered since July 2012, I'm a registered childminder in Rushden
I am married to Lee. we have three children, Chelsea, who was born in April 2000, Shannon who was born in September 2002 and Kallum who was born in October 2004. I have a chocolate labrador called Bear. He will be an assisted dog for my daughter who has special needs,
I have just completed how to set up home-based childcare level 3
I am an Ofsted registered childminder
My aim as a childminder is to provide daycare facilities for children that I would feel happy about leaving my children in. And I can also offer lots of activities to develop the children. And I provide a safe and happy environment for the children in my care.
My Experience
My childcare experience ranges from being around children from a very young age to having my children. I grew up in a loving, safe and happy household. This is an environment, which I believe is essential for any child to grow up in. I also believe I can offer this safe and happy environment to child/children. I started a regular babysitting job at the age of 15, I also did work experience for two weeks in a primary school, also did another two weeks in a children's hospital working with disabled children. I then went off to work when I was 18 in a factory to earn some money so I could set our home ready to start our family. but in the back of my mind, I knew my dream job was to work with children, so here I am now finally doing the dream job I've dreamt about.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 paediatric first aid certificate(Renewed May 2024)
I just completed my level 3 in how to set up home- based childcare
I also have a certificate in successfully completing safeguarding children and young adults (0-16) course.
Completed a basic food hygiene course
Training on the EYFS revised 2012 completed
Also had my scores on the doors for food hygiene. I was rated a 5 ( very good )
I have also completed a workshop on recording children's development.
I have also just completed a course on designated person training to do with child protection.

And A shared understanding with parents of their child's development.
My provision was graded by Ofsted as being "GOOD" when my inspection took place on the 18th of October 2023

Jo has been fantastic when looking after my little boy, he gets very overwhelmed and unsettled easily and Jo has been amazing in supporting him and making him feel at home whilst with her!
She’s always been very welcoming and professional from our first meeting and it was a no brainer to use Jo for my childminding needs right from the start! X

We are incredibly grateful to have found Jo, who has been a wonderful presence in our lives since we moved to the area. From the moment we met her, she was welcoming and exuded warmth and professionalism, making her our first point of call for childcare.
Her caring nature is evident in how she interacts with our child, always attentive and nurturing. She goes above and beyond to ensure that each day is filled with fun and engaging activities. Our child has enjoyed numerous outings, which have been both educational and entertaining, greatly contributing to their development and happiness.
One of the aspects we appreciate most is her commitment to keeping us informed. We receive daily updates about our child's progress, activities, and any milestones they reach. We cannot thank Jojo for everything she has done for Ru. She provides a wonderful homely environment where the children can play, explore and do some lovely arts and crafts. She takes them out exploring the world and seeing new things. She also has two assistants who are sometimes present and they are just as caring and amazing. Jo-jo is highly recommended and jojo’s childcare will always remain and wonderful important part of Ru’s life x

Jo was very helpful and put me at ease as a key worker it was stressful finding someone.
The children aged 9/4/ 19months all loved the setting and the different available things to keep them occupied.

Our Son has attended JoJos for a year and a half. During that time, Thomas has grown leaps and bounds. At 2 years old he knows all his colours and shapes, he counts to 14 and recognises numbers and letters. He is potty trained and can communicate very well. JoJos has all the educational benefits of a nursery but with the benefit of being a family environment. With her assistant Chelsea the family home becomes a micro nursery. Thomas had just turned 1 when he started with JoJos and being a first time mum I was nervous to leave him but she reassured me throughout the first few days with pictures and messages and he settled in like JoJo had always been there. If you're looking for a home from home I would highly recommend.

Jo has been looking after our twin girls for nearly two years. Her environment is warm, caring and nurturing.
Our girls have loved going to Jo’s and their time with her has really helped their development.
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Jo, she has truly become part of our family.

My daughter was at jojo for just over a year and half and during that time develop an amazing bond with not just jojo but with her children as well. My daughter suffered with development issue and jojo would work with my health visitor and me to give her extra support to help her. Jo is a very down to earth person and she is give so much love and care to each individual child in her care. My daughter does not bond with people easily and to me this shows how special Jo and her family are. My daughter always felt at home at jojo they were like her second family and I could not have wished for more. My daughter has moved to a pre school now and was a sad day for both parties on her last day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Both you and your children meant so much to my little girl xxx

Being a first time mum your always paranoid and cautious leaving your child with other people. Just returned to work from maternity and been looking for a child minder and I knew as soon as I met Jo that she was the one to look after my son. She's caring, funny, amazing with children and I knew that my son will be looked after in a fun and safe environment. She is always talking to my son, which I know is good for development of his language skills. Jo is also very flexible and very understanding as am doing shift work it can be hard to plan or book days in advance. She takes such care and pride in the environment and activities she creates for them. I couldn't have felt more reassured when I returned to work and left my son in her care and I'm sure you would feel the same if you choose to leave your child in her care.
Jo and her family are always so happy, friendly and I always feel so welcomed and comfortable dropping and picking him up, Which is so nice knowing your child is in such a lovely environment, interacting and learning with other children. Even though he is only 6 1/2 months and cannot tell me he enjoys it there I think the huge smiles, practically bouncing out my arms towards her is a good indication that he thoroughly enjoys being there. Thank you Jo for making going back to work easy and thank you for the care you show my little one. Happy mum

My two daughters have been going to Jojo's for over a year now, and well What can I say she is one in a million?
my youngest has gone from strength to strength thanks to jo , she goes above and beyond to keep her safe, secure , Happy and entertain.
Taking the children out to play groups and pony riding and her house is like a nursery but in big scale and so so clean ?, and her family always make the girls welcome so much that they talk about Jojo's every weekend xx
