About Me
Hi, my name is Alison. I live in the Pitcorthie area of Dunfermline with my husband and our 2 children, along with our pet dog and cat.
I have been registered as a childminder since October 2009 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I offer a fun, friendly atmosphere and always have different activities on the go to keep children of all ages occupied.
I attend local toddler groups and make good use of the facilities around me which include parks, ponds, woods and library.
I have recently had a large climbing frame put in my garden to encourage outdoor play. This along with many other outdoor activities, provide children in my care, of all ages, plenty of variety in their daily activities.
I will provide you with a daily diary to read at the end of the day so that you can see what your child has been up to whilst in my care.
My Experience
As well as the experience of raising my own children, I have also helped raise my step daughter, who is now all grown up. I love having my nephews and nieces round and enjoy watching them all play together. My mum also used to be a childminder so I have experience of having different children around at different times.
My Qualifications
I hold an up to date paediatric first aid and child protection training and I am currently studying with the Open University to obtain a degree in Child Psychology.
My Availability
I have a limited preschool places available and I can collect/drop-off at local nurseries/playgroups.
My hours are flexible and would discuss to see what would suit yourself and me. Having previously had to organise childcare around my work I know how difficult this can be.
I currently have spaces available to cover school holidays. If you require childcare just over the holiday period please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.

I messaged Alison to enquire about helping me and my little one with pick up and drop offs. Unfortunately I was a little too far away and Alison wasn't available to help....however being the kind soul she is Alison offered some advice as to how I could possibly find someone else. Given the situation it was really nice to see someone being kind and offering to help even when she couldn't accommodate me herself. Thanks Alison your a just lovely 😊

Ali has looked after my daughter for over 2 years & she has been amazing at helping & developing my baby girl turn into the most independent social little butterfly her confidence has just grown & grown.
Ali does lots of different activities with all of the kids, Millie loved going which helped a lot when having to leave her, she also met lots of friends. Ali has a very welcoming nature & home with lots of toys & her garden is great for the kids. She also keeps up to date with photos throughout the day which helps you have peace of mind while at work.
We are sad to have left going to Ali’s as Millie is now at Nursery but plan to keep in contact as she continues to ask to go to see Ali & we also miss having her in our lives.
I had another baby during this time & I have to say Ali went well beyond her call of duty as a childminder in supporting our whole family in this transition which we are very grateful for, things would never have been the same without her.

My son is now 4 and a half and has been going to Ali since he was 18 months old. He absolutely adores her which made me leaving him to start with much easier. My son is a confident wee man and it's partly due to the way Ali has been a part of his life. The kids follow simple rules when they are outside and whilst they play which makes for a wonderful atmosphere when you enter the house. A lovely space with plenty toys and a fantastic garden to play in. Seb leaves Ali this summer to start school and it's going to be a tough transition for us all after so many years. I thoroughly recommend you Ali. You're a wonderful part of the children's lives.
