About Me
Hi my name is Joyce I have 3 grown up children 2 daughters and 1 son. I have 8 grandchildren 4 girls and 4 boys. I live alone in a two bedroom house I am a none smoker with no pets. I like to read and do word and number puzzles along with hidden object games on my ipad. My house is clean and well kept. I have a large outdoor play area with swings, climbing frame and slides, sit n ride cars, water and sand play along with a lot of other resources. I have approved 2,3 and 4 yr old funding. I now only look after pre-school due to the COVID-19 pandemic so I can keep myself and the children in my care as safe as possible in these times. I can tell you about myself and setting on here but like everything else in life seeing it first hand and meeting in person is always the best way to ensure you find the best person and setting that suits yours and your child’s needs. My Experience
I have been childminding for over 30 years. I look after children from all walks of life and nationalities i.e. Portugal, Poland, France, Cayman Island, Ireland, West Indies, India, Pakistan and English and probably a few other countries. So as a mum, grandmother and a childminder at some point in my career I think I have experienced most things life has to throw at us.
My Qualifications
Ofsted Registered.
NVQ level 3
Level 3 in childcare.
Home base childcare level 3 Diploma.
First Aid updated every 3 yrs.
Safeguarding updated every 2 yrs.
Health and Safety level 2 updated every 3 yrs.

I have been on many more courses and keep up to date on all training some mandatory some not as I like to keep up with changes to childcare which are constantly being change by the Government or Ofsted.
I am also a network childminder and a member of Pacey with whom I have my childcare insurance.

It was not a nice experience for my little one. He was coming back home always with nappies rash. It was really bad and in pain. No communication or whatsoever, expect short video of 10-20secs. He was crying as soon seen the house and on picking up time still after 4months....

During the first lockdown I had a bad experience with 2 nurseries and needed childcare for my then 8m old son as a matter of urgency. I was able to visit Joyce’s setting shortly after contacting her and had my son start with her a few days later. He has sailed through various milestones while in her care and has made friends with all the other little children. She helped us by sticking to his routine and was flexible with the changes to his routine as he got older. There are various high quality resources available for the children both indoors and out. I appreciate all she has done for our son and all the advice she has imparted while our son was in her care. If I need a childminder in the future I’ll definitely get hold of her first.
