My name is Sarah and I am 40 years old.
I come from a very large family and have lived in Edinburgh all my life.
I love to cook and I also enjoy baking and decorating celebration cakes.
I enjoy all kinds of arts and crafts; drawing, painting, knitting, jewellery making.
I play piano and trumpet and have recently started teaching myself to play the clarinet too.
I love to travel and explore new places whenever I get the opportunity.
My Experience
I currently work as a self employed Support Worker for children and young people with additional needs and as a nanny for families within Edinburgh.
I have recently moved on from my role as an Early Years Practitioner (with children from birth to age 5) working for Edinburgh Council, where I also completed my SVQ3 Social Services Children and Young People in 2020

For the last 17 years I have also been working part time with a young person with autism/epilepsy/ additional support needs in his home when required - this has included overnight stays, going on holiday with the family and also looking after the young person at home 1:1, while the parents went abroad on holiday.
My main area of work has been in special needs: assisting with all aspects of personal care, administration of medication, feeding (oral, gastrostomy, jejunostomy) managing challenging behaviour.
I have also done voluntary and paid work with The Yard based in Canonmills over the last 10 years.
Overall, I have more than 20 years experience and training with children of all ages and stages from Birth-18 years, in education, play settings and in their homes as a carer/ babysitter.
I pay tax as a self employed carer and am PVG checked. I have previously been SSSC registered in my Edinburgh Council nursery job.

SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) - qualified in March 2020
I gained my PDA Support for Learning Assistants qualification in 2009 at Edinburgh College. This was made up of National Units -

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
£12-15 depending on number of children/ special needs requirement. Open to discuss this.
