About Me
Hello I’m Roberta(Berta), I’m an Ofsted registered childminder rated Good on my latest inspection, see uploaded docs (December 2023) also Professional Declutterer and organiser and mother of two girls who lives in Eastbourne. I started my Childminding journey in 2013 in Forest Hill, London, after I had my first daughter. Over these years I worked with many families from different backgrounds and cultures. Each child is unique. I take my profession seriously and therefore I’m always learning and acquiring more knowledge. I’m also a qualified toddler yoga teacher and play ukelele.
It’s magical to see the child discovering their body and how things work whilst developing and learning through play.
We go out everyday. We have a routine that I developed to be in contact with nature in all kinds of weather but we also like to go to playgroups and soft plays during Autumn and Winter. We go to visit beaches, parks, forests, music groups, playgroups and soft plays. At home we do arts and crafts, yoga, meditation and also during music time I play ukelele to the children.
During school half term and summer holidays we become little explorers looking for exciting and stimulating places to visit around Eastbourne and the surrounding towns.
I offer a diverse and multicultural environment. I’m fluent in Portuguese and English.
I want the parents to feel confident that their children will be cared for and nurtured. The children can enjoy the comforts and security of my family home and also have fun days out full of great adventures.
My childcare setting may be a childcare provision, but it feels just like home. The children feel that they are part of my family and that means I lot to me.
I can offer 15 or 30 hours free childcare entitlement for over 3s and 4s. And also over 2s, when entitled by the government.

My Experience
I’m a childminder since 2013. I have many years of experience working with children. I used to have a childcare setting in London, Forest Hill. It was a lovely setting with 9-10 children all under 8s and two assistants. I’m also a mum, I have two awesome girls.

I can offer 15hours for children from 9months old- From September/24, 2y old and 15/30 hours from 3/4 y old government funded place available (visit the government website for criteria).

I recommend Roberta as the best childminder in Eastbourne! She has been looking after my little one for 2 years and she is now part of our family forever. She is so thoughtful and will give you peace of mind when looking after your little ones...I can't thank her enough! We absolutely love her!

I really couldn’t have asked to find a better childminder, she always thinks of amazing ways to keep the kids entertained, she makes lovely veggie meals for my son. He always leaves with a huge smile on his face and he’s always excited to go back.
We haven’t been in Eastbourne for long but Roberta has been very helpful showing me things to do in the area for my son to enjoy and she always sends updates throughout the day with how maxi is getting on. She is the best in Eastbourne I wouldn’t take my son to anyone else

Berta is the most wonderful, kind, nurturing and special childminder. Our daughter loves going to Berta’s house and has a great fun time everyday whilst learning and developing so much. Berta arranges regular trips (playgroups, soft play, forest school, museums) and ensures these are educational too. Our daughter loves the music classes, always dancing and dressing up at the parties that Berta puts on for the kids. It’s has honestly been the best start we could have hoped for, such a loving family environment.
We receive regular photos, videos and updates - her communication is excellent. She also cares deeply about each child and spends time talking to us at the end of every day about our daughters development and needs.

Berta looked after our toddler and 5 year old (as wraparound before and after school), and was brilliant with them both. From forest school to music classes, kitchen discos to crafts, she kept them fully entertained and was really brilliant at helping us to support our youngest transition into childcare and blossom with new confidence.

My 2 boys (now 6 and 4) have been going to Berta since they were both 1. They now attend her afterschool wrap around care. Roberta offers such a homely, safe, and loving environment with a great balance between discipline and fun. She does lots of fun activities with the kids including forest school, local parks and play groups and some great music/story classes. We have brilliant commination with Berta and we are always kept so well informed about the boys. She is a GEM and would highly recommend her if you are looking for a childminder.

After dreading the return back to work from maternity leave. Roberta was just the kind of person I needed. She was loving, caring and also supportive to myself. She has been a rock to me and my son over the last couple of years. She treats him as one of her family and he always talks about his time at ‘Berta’s’ house. The children get a wide variety of different experiences each week, a great selection of healthy snacks and food. He learns, sings, dances, plays with friends and most importantly has fun.

Berta is very friendly and organised. She gave the best start in childcare for our little girl. My daughter had a great time going to playgroups, local library, singing and story telling groups and the best of all, Forest school. We have a wall full of beautiful pieces of artwork, nice memento. Thank you for been a brilliant childminder to our daughter.
