About Me
Hi ! I’m Lorraine, I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Paddock Wood. I have over 15 years experience as a nursery practitioner and trained in childcare to a BA (hons) level degree in Early Years, along with paediatric 1st aid and safeguarding. I have recently had an Ofsted inspection ( April 2022) and was graded Outstanding.
I have Early Years spaces available and primary school age wrap around/school holidays. I offer drop off and collections at Paddock Wood primary school and the local preschools, just a few minutes walk away.
Linden Ladybirds is a home from home environment shared with my partner and our three children who are fast approaching 17,7 and 5 years old.
Indoors is an Aladdin’s cave of toys, from dress up to dolls, craft to construction. Imaginations can run wild with cars and garages, small world and animal sets as well as learning through play with games and interactive toys .
There’s plenty of fun to be had out in the garden with the water/sand/messy play trays, swings, slides and ride-on toys. Children enjoy the playhouse and mud kitchen in the garden as well as a climbing frame for the preschoolers upwards. Younger children can play safe and enjoy the outdoors too on a foam mat play area with low level climbing cube, rockers, tents and tunnels.
We enjoy exploring the local environment and resources with walks and visits to the library, parks and children’s music groups as well as singing, crafts and sharing a story.

April 2022 Ofsted grading Outstanding as a childminder, 15 years + as nursery nurse, Playscheme manager for summer holiday club ages 4-11 years as well as breakfast and out of school club, toddlers craft club, former Brown Owl in Girl Guiding.

We were so incredibly fortunate to have had Lorraine at Linden Ladybirds look after our little boy between the ages of 9 to 14 months (only stopping as we sadly had to move away). Being his first experience of childcare, and being so young, we were naturally apprehensive but meeting Lorraine we were immediately put at ease and felt confident he was in wonderful hands.
Lorraine was caring, professional, fun, communicative, and did such lovely, educational activities with the children, always finding ways to include our son who was a bit younger than the other children at the time. We were devastated to have to move our son away from Lorraine’s care but couldn’t have wished for a better first experience of childcare.

Our child started with Lorraine at Linden Ladybirds last year October and we are so happy to have found her!
Our child settled in right away and likes going there and meeting her other little friends. The setting is lovely, welcoming, clean and there is a beautiful collection of various toys to support every age and their development.
There is a big lovely garden with great outdoor toys.
Lorraine has a very gentle and calm approach and she is just so natural at what she does. Lorraine makes sure the children are spending time outdoors and learning from and with nature.
Our relationship and communication has been great from day one.
My husband and I highly recommend Lorraine and are very happy to have found a setting for our child where we know she is in the best care.
