My Experience

I am only available for adhoc babysitting currently

Over 11 years experience in childcare. I spent many years working in nurseries. After working up the management chain and becoming more office based in my role, I moved to London to become a nanny. Focussing again on the practical love, nurture and care of children and support to families individually. Previously a live in nanny to baby twins whom I had from 7 weeks old until 10 months. I have worked as a nanny for a variety of families in London and South Wales, caring for children ages ranging from 7 weeks up to 7 years. Recently relocated to Lancashire to live near to family.

I am currently working in a nursery setting. I love to enjoy the beautiful countryside and inspire a love of the outdoors in the children in my care. I have experience in all areas of childcare- from child related household chores to providing developmentally appropriate activities. I have cared for children with complex health needs and allergies, as well as SEN and English as an additional language. I have also had extensive experience with speech and language delay. Experience sleep training, weaning (also weaning a breastfed child onto a bottle). I enjoy the challenge of providing a healthy and wholesome meals that will appeal to a child's palette- and also introduce new tastes and flavours. (It's extremely rewarding to see a fussy child begin to eat an increasingly varied diet!) I love to cook meals with fresh ingredients from scratch- additionally I am very happy to make enough so that a family can have a meal together at the end of the day.

I was a fluent Welsh speaker as a child and am currently working hard to regain my fluency. I am passionate about the developmental benefits of bilingualism and because of this I expose the children in my care to both English and Welsh in their everyday routines as well as through stories and song!

A day in my care is full of variety. I love to take the children out and about to explore their surroundings, learning about the world they live in. I will always be on the look out for ways that the children can extend their learning through the things that they are interested in. I have a working knowledge of the Early years curriculum in England and Wales, and apply it to our activities. I keep myself up to date on current research related to child development and best practice in childcare.

I maintain firm but gentle and kind discipline for the children in my care. We keep to the family routine and maintain boundaries. I believe in a positive behaviour support methodology in order to enable the children in my care to feel secure, loved and nurtured and thus be able to achieve their full potential

I hold a full driving license. I hold a Paediatric first aid certificate, safeguarding certificate, and DBS on the update service.
