About Me
Hi my name is Sarah and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live in the Queens Park/Dentons Green area of St Helens with my husband and my 2 children, my little boy who is 6 and my little girl who is 2. Firstly I would like to thank you for taking an interest in my childminding services. I hope we are able to work together to meet the individual needs of your child. I offer a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment where children are able to enjoy learning and grow in confidence. It is my aim to work alongside parents to provide a home from home experience for each of the children in my care and to welcome them into our family.
Below is just a short list of some of the day to day activities your child will be involved in:

We also like to spend a lot of our time outdoors. Living opposite a park gives us great opportunities for physical development such as playing in the play area, football, miniature golf and tennis. The children also enjoy feeding the ducks, collecting leaves to use in our craft activities and looking for bugs. Even when it’s raining we put on our waterproofs and welly’s and go puddle jumping!
We visit lots of places of interest while we’re out and about such as the library, children’s centres and local tot’s groups where the children can enjoy interacting with other children, learning social skills and building confidence in groups. The children enjoy planting in the garden and love taking responsibility for feeding our pet rabbit Steve. We have just recently grown our first batch of butterfly’s from tiny caterpillars. The children really enjoyed watching them grow and following their life cycle, checking on them everyday before taking them to the local park and letting them go.
During the school holidays I take the children on regular trips out to make their learning experience even more fun. Maybe to the local farm, strawberry picking or to one of our many local museums. Some trips out will just be all about having fun like going to the beach with our buckets and spades or running and jumping in the ball pool at soft play.
We have lots of various toys and resources for children of all ages to support their learning and development. Activities are planned on a weekly basis for the group and for individual children taking into account ages and interests.
During my time as a childminder I have looked after children as young as 17 months old all the way up to the age of 8. I love every minute of it from bonding with the children to working with mum's and dad's and meeting some lovely families. Every day is different for me and the children with lots of smiles and laughter.
This is just a small snap shot of the service I provide and I would be more than happy for you to contact me with any queries/questions you may have or to arrange a visit to my setting. Having 2 young children of my own I understand how important it is for you to have faith and confidence in your childcare provider and I hope that I have provided small steps towards this to be built on in the future. My Experience
I spent 2 years working in a local primary school with children who attended our breakfast club, after school club and holiday club. The children in my care ranged from age 4 to age 11. I have also spent time with my son's class at school during their class trips and have given class talks. I have worked voluntarily in the reception class at English Martyr's Primary School in Haydock to widen my eperience.
My biggest and maybe most important area of experience comes from being a mum to my two young children. I see their learning and development every day and they teach me new things all the time.

5 star food hygiene certificate

I have recently signed up to the NVQ Level 3 Childcare Learning and Development qualification. I am also due to attend Enhanced Early Years training in January 2013.
I am fully Ofsted registered, fully CRB checked as is my husband and I am a member of the NCMA.
My Availability
I'm available for childcare all throughout the year apart from the 3 weeks holiday I take each year. I will always give plenty of notice to parents to allow them to make alternative arrangements.
I am able to drop off/pick up at Queen's Park Primary School and Nursery and also from Rivington Nursery if times do not clash.
My hours of work are 7.30am - 6.00pm and I have full and part time places available.

Sarah currently childminds my 17 month old daughter 2 days a week and every other week my 6 year old son and 5 year old daughter attend breakfast club at Sarah's, to which Sarah then takes them to school.
The children really enjoy going to Sarah's and can't wait to go. I feel so comfortable in leaving the children with Sarah as they have never once been late for school and I don't have to struggle with them to get ready in the morning before I go to work as they look forward to going.
My youngest daugher who stays with Sarah two days a week really enjoys her time spent with Sarah, as they attend several play groups and Sarah ensures that the days are carfully planned as to ensure fun, learning, and a loving environment are high on the agenda.
I feel so assured when I leave the most important things in my life with Sarah, as I am confident in the knowledge that my children are well looked after and that they enjoy every minute with Sarah. Its such a big burden lifted, as you can feel so guilty being a working mum but knowing that the children love Sarah it makes going to work so much easier for me.
I could not think of anyone else I would rather see looking after my children.
