My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder since 2007.
I have my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.
I live with my two daughters Amy age 16 years and Chloe age 15 years also their dad Nick. We have two small dogs and one cat.
As a childminder I like to take the children out and about visiting fun places like play parks and the woods.
We did attend a lot groups before the lock down including soft play, music groups and Tree tops. Once we are able to again we will continue this.
We still get out and about every day for walks and visiting play parks, also feeding the ducks.
I have a good size enclosed back garden with a wooden play house, trampoline, swing, slide, climbing frame and sand pit. Lots of toy cars.
We also enjoy our paddling pool in the summer with lots of water fun!
I have plenty of board games for those rainey days, a selection of pictures for children to colour in.
We make cards and decorate them using stickers and gems.
We do lots of arts and crafts, painting, play dough, sand and water play.
I provide lots of books for story time.
Cooking, making cakes and pizzas is another activity we do here.
We have a large selection of toys for boys and girls including wooden train sets, wooden farms and lots of toy animals.
Plenty of jigsaw puzzles
A large selection of dolls and prams.
A large dolls house, with all furniture and people inside even toy pets.
We have lots of beads to make bracelets with for the older children and large wooden beads for the younger children to learn to thread with.
I do my best to provide a large selection of different toys and resources to excite each individual child, supporting their learning and development in a fun way.
I love my work and do my best to make all the children feel comfortable, safe and at home here at my setting.
I like to support children to be as independent as possible, so they will become school ready. I do this by supporting and encouraging them to put on their own shoes and to learn to do their own coats up.
I encourage all children to keep themselves and others safe by washing hands regularly.
My Experience
As a teenager my work was babysitting a lot of evenings each week. I really enjoyed looking after children, being there for them playing games with them and keeping them happy.
After having my own two daughters, I became a childminder which was the best thing I did as I love working with all different age children, watching them grow, having fun together and learning new skills which help them become independent in life. I want to continue to work with children now even as my own children are older as this work is very rewarding.
I love seeing children happy and learning at the same time in a fun environment where they can feel comfortable and safe here giving them all happy memories.
I have looked after children from newborn onwards doing Learning Journeys for children under 5, where I track each child's learning progress and share with their parents and preschool each term.
I have had lots of experience with different aged children and I do my best to make each child feel comfortable with myself and able to talk to me which enables the child to talk about what activities they would like to do and address any problems.

Kerrie has been childminding for me for a number of years looking after both my daughter and son for 3 days a week both term time and school holidays. I have always found Kerrie to be very reliable and trustworthy and my children both feel comfortable and happy in her care. Kerrie has a good range of games and toys available and a good size garden with lots of outdoor toys for the children to use. Kerrie provides the children with a variety of activities to keep them occupied including crafts and cooking but also regularly takes them to the local park and the younger children to local music and play groups as well as trips out where possible during school holidays. I am happy that my children are well looked after while in Kerrie's care.
