About Me

Hi, I'm Becca. I am a level 3 qualified Ofsted registered childminder based in Ashtead with 17 years childcare experience. I live with my partner and our 15 year old daughter. I've worked in many childcare jobs that include nurseries, nanny jobs & as a childminders assistant for 5 years before becoming registered myself. I have now been a childminder for the past 4 years. I’m calm & caring and have always loved looking after children.

I follow the same EYFS and learning plan as nurseries and pre schools do, but with a more personal touch by providing a smaller setting which means I can really get to know the children well. I like to build a strong relationship with the children and give the children individual time and attention - for this reason I offer a setting with up to 3/4 children per day. I currently only care for children under 5 years old and therefore don’t do school runs, which means the children have more time to play or nap without interruptions.

We live in a open plan flat on a lovely quiet estate with a park on site which we use often. I have a home from home environment, working from my living room, and I want the children to feel as comfortable here as they would in their own home. I have 2 bedrooms which the children use for sleeping (travel cots provided) as-well as sleeping mats for the older children to use for nap times/quiet time.

I like to get outside as much as possible and I have a allotment which we use when we can. We have fruit trees and plant vegetables which the children can dig/pick themselves and take home. It also contains a mud kitchen, play houses, ride on toys and sand pit etc which the children will have sole use of. We go for walks throughout the week to local areas, visit parks as well as visiting the ducks/horses. I also like to meet with other childminders for play dates and we attend a weekly toddler group. I provide healthy food and plan activities based on the children’s interests and provide a fun environment for children to learn and play. I do a weekly learning theme and create activities involving sensory play, messy, arts & crafts and new learning opportunity to invite children to play. We also do baking/cooking & do many themed activities based on special events - Mother’s & fathers Day/Easter/Chinese new year etc. We do a mixture of planned activities as well as free play throughout the week.

My working hours are 8-5 Monday - Thursday, all year round including holidays. Hourly rate includes everything from nappies, food, outings etc.
