About Me
Hi my name is Sophie, I have been a registered childminder now for nearly 11 years. I am based in Petts Wood and have two children, a daughter who is 13 and a son who is 4 and will be attending Crofton Infant School from September. I work with a lovely assistant Amy, who has been with me for the last three and a half years.
I will provide your child with a safe and loving environment. I am very active in the community and attend lots of play groups, parks, farms, libraries and soft play.We like to visit museums too such as the Horniman and the Maritime museum. We do lots of structured play indoors such as baking and painting.I have an extensive range of toys for children of all ages and your child will have full access to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. I keep a scrap book of the children's photographs and work that we send home to parents at the end of each term.
All our meals are homemade and can cater for different needs such as allergies or vegetarian. I have a four week menu plan that all parents will receive a copy of.
I got a grading of good on my last Ofsted Inspection in October 2018. This is available for you to view on the Ofsted Website or I have a copy at my setting. My registration number is EY394167
I work very closely alongside parents to provide children with consistency from their home to my home.
My Experience
I have been working as a childminder since September 2009 before this I was working as a PA in the city. I chose to change my career as I love babies and small children and felt this a more worthwhile career choice for myself.
I currently look after 8 children on a part time basis, the youngest is almost 2 and the oldest boy is 5. All the children are very happy and content at my setting and I have had lovely feedback from their parents.
I have all the relevant training and qualifications to be a registered childminder.

Introducion to Childcare Practice
Safeguarding Chilren
Paediatric First aid certificate, as does my partner and both will be updated every three years.
Early Years Foundation Stage delivery training.
I also have a degree in Hospitality Management.
My Availability
I have vacancies at the moment Mon - Thurs due to 4 of my current children starting school in September.
I can drop off and collect from Crofton Infant and Junior School and the pavilion preschool in Willett Rec.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
I charge £55 daily rate between 07:30 and 18:00. I can be slightly flexible on hours.
My school drop off and pick up is £25 or £20 just for a school pick up.
The above fees include all meals and snacks and any outings and playgroup costs.

Sophie does a great range of activities with the children, often linked to the holidays and seasons, like baking and lots of different crafts. She also takes the children on exciting outings, including into London. The menu is healthy and has a wide range of dishes. Sophie and Amy are both very friendly and really care about the children's wellbeing and development. Sophie runs her business very professionally, with clear notices to parents, and it's a great help that she starts at 7.30 in the morning.

Sophie really does provide 'a home from home'. Our little girl (now 2) has been with her since she was six months old and will really miss Sophie and Lauren (Loh-Loh) when they move to Petts Wood. They are really active and take the children out a lot, and provide them with a lot of stimulation and fun.

My 2 year old has been with Sophie since she turned 1 and has flourished there. She absolutely loves Sophie and Lauren and is excited to go to in the morning. They provide a warm and loving environment with lots of activities and stimulation - I can't recommend her highly enough. Sadly the commute from Hither Green to Petts Wood is just too far for us - although we did consider it!
