About Me
Hi we are Nicki and Stew We have been working together as Happy Days Childcare for 13 years and we have 2 gorgeous boys aged 17 and 15, and our dog, who is a Shih Tzu, called Marley.
Our main aim is to provide a happy, safe and homely environment in which children can flourish and as such have a warm and welcoming home which is incredibly child focused. We have a large purpose built playroom with a full range of fun educational toys, musical instruments, role play and multicultural toys. In addition it has a quiet area where children can relax. We can also provide quiet rooms with beds and travel cots for daytime naps.
We visit local playgroups, music groups, play areas and farms so children can play, learn, and develop valuable social skills. When at home the children love to get stuck into painting, gluing and sticking, baking and playdoh. In good weather we enjoy picnics and when not so good “carpet picnics" are just as much fun!
Our cars allow us to take the children on days out. We love going to Clumber, Rufford and Clifton Park as well as indoor soft play areas. Our visits to the coast prove to be just as popular as the children enjoy a day on the beach investigating the rockpools, sea and building sandcastles. We are members of Yorkshire Wildlife Park and National Trust and we love to attend the local forest tots.
All activities are linked into the Early Years Foundation Stage. Each child within the 0-5 age range has their own development profile which ensures that we not only work in partnership with other settings but also parents receive a full insight into their child’s daily activities and development.
Our experience in foster care and adoption has given us a sound knowledge of how to build a bond with children to ensure they feel safe and secure in their environment as well as having experience in working with professionals dealing with developmental delays.
We have a small Shi-Tzu dog who gets on great with children and have our own risk assessment in place.
We are a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare in Early Years). We offer 15 hours funding for 2, 3 and 4 years olds as well as 30 hours funded childcare. We offer drop off and pick ups from Willow Primary School.

Qualifications are as follows:
NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Development
Diploma in Homebased Childcare
Certificate in Paediatric First Aid
Level 3 in Safeguarding Children
Level 3 in Child Psychology
HABC Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering
Ofsted graded as GOOD February 2020.

We are available all year round but offer term time only contracts too. We are open Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm

I can’t recommend Nicki and Stew at Happy Days enough, they have cared for both my son and daughter over the last few years and we are very fortunate to have found them. They provide a home from home, an outstanding level of care along with fun days out, a range of daily activities to engage the children and support their learning and development. If you are looking for the best childminders around then look no further.

Nicki and Stew have looked after our little boy for the past 3 years and we can not praise them enough.
There home from home environment made leaving our little one with them so much easier. We were given lots of regular updates on how he had settled in the early days and then updates on what a great time he was having each day from then on.
There passion for providing high quality childcare and educational experiences is so evident and our little boy has developed enormously whilst in their care, not only in his personal and social skills with the friendships he has made and the life skills he has learnt but also educationally. We are so very sad that the time has come for our little boy to join school but feel like he had the very best start in Nicki and Stew’s care.

Nicki and Stew have cared for my daughter, Lilah, since January of this year. They are both clearly so dedicated to what they do, and have been a home from home for her - and such a pillar of support for us. They both clearly have such a passion for caring for children, and it shows every day when Lilah comes home full of chatter and excitement about her day. She’s had trips to Rufford and the Wildlife park, seen butterflies grow and enjoyed such a lovely troop of friends. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Happy Days!

My daughter has been with Nicki since 2017.
I knew I wanted a childminder instead of a nursery because I wanted a home environment & my little one to Feel like she’s part of a family.
This is absolutely true at Nicki’s. She loved my little in the same way I do. Nicki is bursting with kindness & care. She provides amazing opportunities for them- takes them to the deep, out for a walk & a cake, to music bugs, to play groups. Nicki was always accommodating whenever I needed extra support. She’s a superminder.

Our daughter was with Nicki from Happy Days Childcare from age 1 until age 4 before starting school Nicki is absolutely fantastic, I would highly recommend any parents to Nicki at Happy Days Childcare!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nicki has cared for our daughter, as if she were her own and gives you fantastic feedback and support using the tapestry app and a daily diary and full quarterly development reports.
Nicki ensures children have lots of fun whilst learning and uses various techniques such as cooking,baking,crafting and days out,as well as play groups and play areas.
Thank you so much for all you have done Nicki for our daughter, we cannot thank you enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💗💗

We feel very fortunate to have been able to send our daughter to Happy Days.
Nicki and Stew provide the very best care, ensuring that our little one is well taken care of and she is developed with varied and fun activities every day. The variety of activities and trips out is a real point of difference - I don't know how they do it!
With activities ranging from music bugs and soft play areas to visits to museumns and 'The Deep', the little ones spend their time so varied that we are envious ourselves.
We couldn't have been luckier and happier than to have found Nicky and Stew and will always be grateful for the exceptional start our daughter has made in all aspects of her development as a result of their outstanding efforts and consistency.

My two children have been with Nicki and Stew since September 2016. Despite us only requiring an hour a day and school pickup, my children are full of stories about things they have done or made at Nicki and Stew's house and clearly enjoy being there. When my children are with Nicki and Stew I know they are being well cared for and that they are having fun. I feel very fortunate to have found Nicki and Stew, they are lovely people and great childminders.

Our daughter Grace has been with Nicki and Stew since February 2016 when I returned back to work part time.
I cannot highly recommend them enough they have a lovely setting and Grace really enjoys her time with them and has come on leaps and bounds. They provide lovely healthy food/snacks.They provide a daily diary with lots of information what Grace has done ,as well as a great Online journal and reports on her progress.
They do great daily activities and day trips out to various play areas ,music bugs and educational trips.

Our two little boys have been with Happy Days since babies. They both clearly love it and have made fantastic progress over the years.

Although I did not use happy days as unfortunately they were not close enough to the school I sent my children to they we're extremely helpful in helping me find a childminder that was! Very friendly and quick response.
