My Summary
About Me
Hello and thank you for looking at my profile.
I have been a childminder for the last 8 years and have over 20 years childcare experience. I previously worked as a private nanny for a lovely family in South Kensington looking after their 3 children for 8 years. I adored watching the kids grow and was very sad to leave them. They became my extended family. (I left to have my son) Before that, whilst I studied for my CACHE diploma L3 in Childcare and Education I worked as a Learning support assistant in a primary school in London Waterloo. I loved this role and worked closely with 2 special needs children. One with autism, and one with cerebral palsy. So I gained first hand experiences working with parents, or external support staff.
I was often left with the class to take the register, or to set them up for activities therefore I’m confident in looking after children of all ages and have experience from birth to teens.
I feel it’s very important to work closely with the parents of the children I mind, so we together can help to develop your child in the best possible way.
I use a babysdays system where all my policies, contracts, register, and invoicing is done. You will have log in details to access this app when the contract is drawn up.
On a day to day basis I keep in contact with parents through a WhatsApp chat. I will upload photos of what the children have eaten, or videos of the childrens day. I’ve had great responses from parents that this works well for them, as they are able to see their children and how happy they are, whilst they are away from them.
After having my son who is now 10, I decided it would be best for me to take care of him myself, than return to nannying. It’s been the best decision I’ve made, and I love being a childminder. I love the rewards it brings, seeing the children grow and develop, and building a loving relationship with the children. I enjoy encouraging them and making them feel special.
My daughter is 8, and has taken after me with her love for babies and children! She loves to help out when she’s home from school, either by playing with them or helping me set up another activity. My children attend the local school which is a 3 minute walk away, so your children will not be out on long walks to do pick ups or drop offs.
I can offer you a home from home experience with lots of fun, games, activities, experiences and age and stage appropriate developmental activities.
We spend the morning going out to a playgroup, library, singing sessions, museums or a walk to the park or another outings of some kind. We work on our phonics, name writing, letter formation and numbers before heading out. Then in the afternoon after nap time and school run it’s free play activities as my children come home from school.
We have 1 large dog, who is a playful German Shepherd. Shes been brought up in the family home and around the minded children. Shes very gentle, and also loves a game of ball with the children! We also have 3 cats who are not very present in my working environment.
Even though we have animals, they are most likely outside of the working room during the day. I have had many children start my setting who have been scared of dogs, but because of our dog, they are no longer scared of dogs or worried if a dog approaches them in a park.
I work from my kitchen/diner in my house which is open plan. It’s a large room which is nice and bright, with lots of natural light. As this is my family home, I do not have posters with numbers and alphabets on the walls, even with my own children growing up we didn’t have this. However I have many different stimulating toys that I rotate continuously during the day. The children also have access to choose what they would like to play with from the toy cupboards.
We don’t spend much time at home as we are out every morning, home for lunch, then most likely a nap in the afternoon.
The children sleep in a travel cot upstairs or in the front room.
I’m the kind of person who loves to get out as much as I can, and take as many opportunities as I can to develop the children whilst we are out.
I believe children learn through play and routine, therefore I stick to the routine as much as I can.
I provide all meals and snacks for the children in my care, and all outings, playgroups and petrol is included in my hourly rate which is £6.50
I have been inspected twice by Ofsted in the last 8 years, with both gradings being "good"
My Experience
I have 16+ years Childcare experience. 3 years were spent in a primary school, as a Learning Support Assistant for a physically disabled child, an autistic child and a classroom assistant. Then the last position before childminding I had been a private nanny.
My Qualifications
I have a DCE L3 CACHE diploma in Childcare and education. I have also completed a level 2 food safety course, first aid in the work place, and paediatric first aid as well as numerous safeguarding and other courses with Bexley Council.

My son spend the summer with her and I have the best relationship regarding all the activities they have done, where my son was in all moment, when he was sleeping or eating or playing. Also, she was there everytime my son it was sick and support me to continue with my studies. This was my first time with a childminder and the experience it was amazing in all aspects and nothing to disagree. This was the best summer of my son knowing new people, learning new skills, enjoying activities, discover and live new adventure.
I couldn't be more grateful to Nancy, she is so kind and lovely and she have so much patience 🙏
Nancy has taken care of my daughter since she was 23 months old, till now that she is nearly 4 years old.
Nancy has helped my daughter a lot to develop her vocabulary in English, since we speak another language at home. I am very happy that my daughter can communicate well in two languages and it is partly thanks to Nancy.
My daughter really enjoys goes to Nancy's, house, because they do a lot of different activities during the day, she absolutely love Nancy.
Nancy always keeps me informed of everything they do during the day, I really appreciate it.
Unfortunately I'm leaving London, and I know my daughter will miss her a lot.

As a first time anxious mum, Nancy gave me everything I could have asked for.
I don’t live near family or friends so my son was with me constantly for over a year until I had to go back to work so finding someone I could trust with him was so important to me as he had never been left with anyone.
Nancy gave me such reassurance and provided my son with the best care possible.
He loved his days out with Nancy and his friends and I was always provided with updates.
Each day I would pick him up and hear how much of a great day he had and I could see how happy he was when I dropped him off in the mornings.
I found this helped me as I could see how happy he was and how much love and care he was having.
I’ve moved away from London now but if I hadn’t then Nancy would still be the person I would have looking after my children without a doubt.

My son Freddie, has been with Nancy since he was 10 months old and he is now 2 years old. He absolutely loves Nancy, he runs into her arms every morning when I drop him off, and he also loves the family dog, Phoebe :) !! They're always doing something fun, no day is ever the same. Freddie is so happy there and he has learnt so much being with Nancy. I am so grateful to have found someone so nice to look after my son. We are sad to be leaving Nancy, due to moving house - we will miss her so much :( x x

Thank you so much for your lovely review Holly. I’m definitely going to miss you all, and am sad you’re leaving but wish you the very best in your new home. Please keep in touch!! X
Nancy was everything we needed and more. After a particularly bad experience with a childminder when my little boy was 10months old, we somehow found Nancy 2months later. My little boy loved going week in week out to Nancy’s, she cared for him and all of the other children sending through videos of his day, taking him on daily trips to the library, play group, soft play, garden centres and many more. He progressed so quickly in her care and has developed into a loving, intelligent 3 year old. All of the children who Nancy cares for are kind and caring. She provides delicious and nutritious food for the children and her setting is very well equipped with an array of toys and games. Nancy provides a home from home for the children and we would have been lost without her.
Thank you for everything. We miss you a lot.
