Hi I am Sam!, I'm a mature and experienced Childminder with a real Home from Home atmosphere to make your little ones feel like they're at Grannie's house - not in childcare !

My setting is called Hippo Hollow Childcare Corner, its conveniently located on Monks Road, near the hospital, prison and not far from Anglian Water and Lincoln College. I'm on a main bus route ( 3 and 17 buses ) and only a 15 minute walk into the town centre.

I am currently the only OFSTED Registered childminder for Monks Abbey Primary school and provide a tried and tested before and after school package including a hot evening meal. I am also registered for Early years so can provide a wraparound service for Little Monks Nursery and Monks Abbey Nursery.
I open at 7am and drop off at school at 8.50am
I pick up from school at 3.10 and take children safely on the short walk to my house, teaching road safety and wearing hi viz, where children can chose to take part in crafts and activities, games and reading or just kick off their shoes and chill out and watch a film. Dinner is served at 4.30pm and collections are from 5pm up until 6.30pm.

I offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making parents feel instantly calmed when they may have been previously anxious in finding a suitable fit and the right person to look after their precious bundle.

I try to accommodate various work schedules if I possibly can. It's sometimes a bit of a jigsaw to fit people in around others and still stay within my permitted ratio of children. I do recognise that no one works 9 - 5 anymore and shift patterns can be a tricky one to deal with but im always happy to try.

Being a city based childcare setting mean I dont have the large outdoor space a rural or suburban house may have, but every inch of our outdoor space has been maximised to provide a safe and versatile area for different play situations. This space is not just a garden, it's a blank canvas for providing an area for exploring and learning from growing flowers and plants to wildlife friendly elements and interchangeable activities that can be brought out or packed away depending on children's choices and curiosity. In addition we have 2 parks in close proximity where there are wildlife to see, ducks to feed and conkers to collect as well as safe space to run and play and enjoy the outdoors safely away from the limits of roads and traffic.
My Last Ofsted Inspection was in February 2020 and I was again awarded GOOD in all areas.
