About Me

My name is kelly thorns I am an OFSTED registered childminder in littleover derby. I work with my sister Nicky who is also a registered childminder. this means there is always going to be one of us here so no need to worry about us having holidays or being poorly. I use the downstairs of my house for minding, which offers a seperate large play room with walk in toy cupboard for the children to use, dining room, kitchen and toilet. I have had an extra large area added to my garden to provide an area flat for bikes/scooters etc and just for running around. This is in addition to another area with a climbing frame. We have 2 greenhouses in the garden for children to learn about growing and also have an allotment across the road where the children help to plant and pick veg and fruit. I have a son who is 14 years old. I live close to a number of schools and offer school drop offs and pick ups, I also do school holidays. We take regular trips to the park at the bottom of the street to enable the children to have a run around. We also love going on walks to look at the local environment and try to get out everyday. We visit soft play centers, todlder groups and other childminders. We make time to do as much art as possible, getting messy and having fun. we also love having story time.
