My Summary
About Me
My name is Catherine and I am 38 years old. I live with my husband and three children in Keinton Mandeville. We live in a lovely, spacious detached house with an enclosed garden- all very welcoming and child friendly. We have two dogs, 6 guinea pigs and some fish.
For the past 9 years I have been running a very successful childminding business. I have looked after a number of children ranging in age from 4 months through to 11 years old. We have all had a lot of fun together! I am very lucky to have had great relationships with my previous families and can provide references if required.
I believe that young children learn best through play so there will be lots of this! There will also be lots of walks, outdoor play and visits to toddler groups, soft play, the library and local events. I believe it is important for children to explore, learn about and respect their environment and will nurture this wholeheartedly. I offer a warm home from home environment where children can thrive and explore the world around them.
I was awarded an 'Outstanding' grade at my last Ofsted inspection in January 2017. I am an accredited childminder and am pleased to be able to offer funded hours to 2 and 3 year olds.
I am an Early Years community lead for the Ansford and Wincanton area.

My Experience
I have been working with children for 20 years now in a variety of different settings. These include nurseries, pre-schools, schools, schools for children with additional needs and children’s centres. I have also spent 2 years working with children’s services, playing an active role in safeguarding vulnerable children.
My Qualifications
I have a First Class honours degree in Education Studies and have also completed a PGCE specialising in Early Years (equivalent to an NVQ Level 6).
Since I began childminding I have completed a large variety of courses including food hygiene, safeguarding and emotion coaching. I also have completed a 12 hour paediatric First Aid course.
My Availability
My hours will generally be from 8.00-5.30 however other hours may be negotiated.
