About Me
I am a mother of 2 children, 16 and 13yrs - as a family, we enjoy a variety of activities such as camping, swimming and spending time with our friends. My husband and I married in 2012, and are excited about our future ahead, with the children at the forefront of everything we do
I offer a safe place where children can continue to develop and learn in an exciting, enriched environment. A home from home setting, an open airy play space, filled with neutral colours and natural materials for the children to investigate. We have a big enclosed garden and live within suitable walking distance to local play groups, libraries, shops and children's centres meaning that we are always busy. I am a big believer that the children's art work and creations are paramount to the way in which they learn and understand their surroundings, therefore perfect pictures, or hand/footprint creations are rarely sent home. This year has seen outings such as farms and various museums, to enhance their learning, as well as the ongoing development of our flower, herbs and vegetable patch in the garden. This is only an insight to what we do on a daily basis, all activities are carefully planned to ensure the children are challenged, but safe and happy - allowing for freedom of choice within the planning.
My Experience
Before having my own family, i was a youth leader for the camping and caravan club 12-18year olds organising various training, and fund raising events and caring for their well being throughout the weekend camping.
i have volunteered in a school nursery and year 1 classroom for 6 months prior to working full time ina private nursery for 2 years in various departments - including the kitchen!
i have also volunteered work for Brownies for a period of time. I have recently retired from 3 years as Cub Scout leader.
Having had 2 children of my own, i have plenty of experience from new born to 5 years and onwards, and thoroughly enjoy being with them
I have been a childminder for 10 years now, and still thoroughly enjoy being with the children - last rated "outstanding" by ofsted march 2024
My Qualifications
Before becoming a childminder I was a Customer Service Manager in a building society, however once my son was born I knew working with children was what I wanted to do. I have completed my Level 3 NVQ in early years, forest school, makaton, hygge accreditation, peadiatric first aid, health and hygeine, safe guarding, attachment disorder training, and various local county council training. I have recently been graded Outstanding by Ofsted.

Mon-Friday .
Pick up/drop off available from hookstone school. I also share are with Green Gables nursery.
I currently have spaces until, I accept funding and childcare vouchers
