About Me
I am an experienced Childminder who currently works together with an assistant. We are a Hygge in the Early Years Accredited setting incorporating elements of the curiosity Approach and forest school. We work from a purpose built setting in my home and offer fantastic 'Adult to Child' Ratio - (usually 1:2) and a loving and nurturing environment. We really enjoy what we do and this is evident in the contentment of the children we look after.
In October 2018 I was awarded OFSTED OUTSTANDING Grade.
We have a fantastic record of bringing children on and preparing them for school, offering a more tailor-made program that meets the requirements of your child and you.
WE CAN ALSO PROVIDE UP TO 15/30 HOURS FREE EDUCATION PLACES AS PART OF THE GOVERNMENT FUNDED EARLY EDUCATION SCHEME FOR 3 AND 4 YEAR OLDS.
We have a well resourced large playroom with plenty of appropriate equipment, toys, books and daily activities to stimulate your child. Home Cooked, Healthy Balanced Meals provided, with a focus on Fruit and Vegetables (and Fun!)
We have a proud record of achievement with pre-school children and babies and can provide testimony from very satisfied parents.
I am married with 2 lovely daughters aged 19 and 14. I currently pick up from Adel St John the Baptist school. I live close to Otley Road close to the Lawnswood Arms so commutes from Otley/Bramhope would be ideal for prospective parents. We have close links to local Playschools and are happy to co-ordinate pick up's and drop offs.

My Experience
I have been a Childminder for over 20 years and prior to this I worked in Primary Schools and Nurseries. I have also worked as a Nanny.
I attend relevant courses and I am a fully qualified fitness instructor.

After my son started to become unsettled in a new room at nursery, we decided a smaller setting would suit him better and so we got in touch with Julie to see if she had availability for him in her setting. Even after the first settling-in session, we knew that he would be so much happier with Julie, and he was. He settled so quickly into Julie's lovely home-from-home setting. Julie has created a calm and nurturing setting with a small number of similarly aged children, who all build really close friendships with one another. She does a great mix of activities with the children, lots of outdoor exploring and learning as well as some innovative and focussed developmental activities at home. Julie builds a close bond with each of the children and they all seem so happy and secure with her. My son has enjoyed his time with Julie so much and it has been such a relief to see him happy to go in each day and to see how much he has come on in his development in the time he has been there. Communication is also great, as Julie builds strong relationships with the parents directly and communicates every day about your child's activities and daily diary, which is really helpful. Julie really is a fantastic childminder. Thank you Julie, we are very grateful for everything that you have done for us and we cannot recommend you enough!!

I couldn’t sing julie’s praises anymore, she is honestly fantastic. My little boy has only just turned one and started with Julie after Christmas, I was a bit apprehensive as he had only been with me and his dad so was worried with how well he would settle.
We’re just over a month in and my little boy is loving it, so much so I don’t even get a wave or kiss goodbye anymore and there have even been tears when I’ve collected him!
She’s just wonderful with him and I can tell he absolutely loves it there. He’s come on so much in such a short space of time and I’m certain it’s because she’s constantly doing fun educational activities with him.
I honestly couldn’t recommend anymore!!

Due to my previous childminder closing her setting due to pregnancy, I was anxious about finding another childminder as my son can be very shy and takes a long time to feel comfortable around new people and to settle in. Well I needn’t have worried, after explaining to Julie he would take a while to settle she suggested a settling in period of a few months where we attended for an hour each week so he got to know Julie and the other kids. However from the very first visit I could tell Julie was going to be the right fit, she provides a very calm and loving setting and tailors her approach to each individual child’s needs. From day one my son was comfortable around Julie, and by the third visit he did not want to leave. He has not once cried about going, and I barely get a kiss in the mornings because he wants to go play. He also suffers from allergies which has affected his eating, however he now eats more than he has ever eaten, and I can only surmise that Julie is a toddler whisperer! My anxious little boy is like a new person, he’s loud and confident and has come on leaps and bounds in the weeks since starting. He learns so much and I love the fact they go on weekly outings which has helped him socially no end. I cannot recommend Julie enough and am so thankful we managed to secure a place for my son.

Julie is fantastic with our daughter and all the kids she looks after. Our daughter is excited about going to Julie's, before and after school. I regularly take our youngest daughter when I collect our oldest from Julie - she loves Julie too! The kids are always doing great activities and having a wonderful time. We are enormous fans!

As an anxious new mom I was worried about leaving my little girl with a childminder. But after visiting Julie & June the worry disappeared. I could not have found a more warm & inviting duo. My little girl settled in so well that I was forgotten about once she step inside their house. They do lots of activities during the day & even go on outings. My little girl loves going here & it puts me at ease knowing she's being well looked after.

I was really apprehensive about returning to work and leaving my little girl, but I needn't have been.
Julie is so fantastic - she did settling in sessions with our baby sufficiently in advance of me returning to work, and sends me regular updates when I'm at work/communicates everything in our daughter's little diary (that Julie provides) so it made the transition back to work a lot easier.
She does lovely things with the children - trips to the park, to local little farms and museums, out for lunches, and to the library, as well as nice play time, painting and songtime at home...my husband and I are usually very jealous of what they're up to, as it sounds so much fun!
Our daughter has settled in so well, and I know this is down to the care and attention she receives at Julie's.
We would definitely recommend Julie to anyone.

My daughter has been with Julie and June since she was a year old and I can't thank them enough for looking after her so well. Everything about the set-up is what I wanted it's like home from home for little ones. My little girl always returns home in a great mood having enjoyed a fun filled day. I'm more than confident that I made the right choice choosing Premier Chilcare.

We are both Doctors and were panicking about sending our first child to childcare! We chose a childminder due to hours we both work.
We could not have been luckier finding Julie and June. We couldn't ask for more! It's like having an extended family. We know our daughter is loved and nurtured and she has so much fun! and lovely meals! -I think she might even prefer Julie's food than mine!
The kids go out on trips regularly, bake cakes, do arts and craft and messy play. The playroom is lovely and there is always soemthing exciting laid out to play with when we arrive.
They are also flexible with our hours and will cover if we are late to pick ups in the evenings, or if we need a different day.
Olivia loves going to Julie's and we can't ask for more than that!
