About Me
Hello, I am Julie. I live in a 3 bedroom detached bungalow in a quiet avenue in Garlinge, which has an alley way leading to a bus stop on the Canterbury road. I have a well equipped back garden, which we like to make the most of. I have a large playroom that has a wide selection of toys and equipment, where we do all our messy play and quiet time. I provide a home from home setting and an environment rich in learning opportunities. I plan activities to enhance children's learning, offering support and help when they need it. We go on lots of fun outings and adventures that include days out to the zoo, farms, beach, park, museums, indoor play zones, toddler groups, to the shops, fire stations, castles and at my home we have a balance of child and adult led activities including arts and crafts, music time and dressing up amongst lots more.
My Experience
I have been registered as a childminder with Ofsted for 21 years. My previous experience includes working in a Montessori Pre-School for 2 years where I looked after and taught children from the age of 2 years to 5 years. I was also an au pair for 6 months helping a working mum look after her twins aged 2 months. The best experience I have obtained is bringing up my own 2 boys and learning new things as they grew up and developed.
My Qualifications
I have a certificate in childcare and education, a diploma in pre-school practice and another diploma in Home-based childcare. I hold a paediatric first aid certificate, a safe guarding children certificate, food hygiene certificate, SEN and behaviour management certificate, Makaton training, Observation, Assessment and planning training, Treasure Basket/Heuristic training and forest school training.
My Availability
I drop off to St.Crispins infant school and St. Saviours juniors school. I offer 15 and 30 hour government funded places for 9months+ (Sept 2024), 2, 3 and 4 years olds and accept tax relief vouchers. I have full/part time places available in school holidays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
I charge:
£5.50 per hour when in full time education
£5.50 per hour 3/4 year olds
£6 per hour 2 and under.

I would highly recommend Julie as a childminder. My son started with her when he was one years old and he was always so happy to go to Julies' and would have such a fabulous time. Julie organises great activities for the children. As it was the first time I had put my child into childcare I really appreciated how much Julie updated me on my sons' progress. She really put our mind at ease as our son has dietry, allergy and sleep challenges and none of this was a problem for her. I really couldn't recommend Julie enough.

I had shortlisted 3 childminders, one of them being Julie and the first childminder we met on our list. Within minutes of meeting Julie and Matt I knew this was where I wanted Frank to be. I'm so pleased that I followed my instinct's because Frank loves every minute of his time with Julie, he would go at weekend's too if he had his own way! Frank has progressed so well with his confidence, speech, social skills, in fact in every way possible in the positive, caring and loving environment that is Julie & Matt's home.
Julie and Matt are a huge part of Frank's life, not just when he is in their care but also at home, Frank frequently talks about them and his friends every day, and when he tells me that he loves Julie and Matt I feel extremely lucky to have found them!

My 2 children have been going to Julie after school and in school holidays for nearly 7 years since starting in Reception. They instantly felt at ease going to her and they have grown to think of Julie and her husband Matt as family, they love going there and spending time with them and talk about them all the time. I always feel 100% confident that the children are safe and very well taken care of at all times when they are in her care. I love the discipline Julie has over the children and how much they respect her rules and would never mess her around. Julie is flexible and caring and you can feel the affection she has for the children. I would recommend her to anyone looking for childcare services.

My 2 and 1/2 year old son has been attending full-time since September and I cannot fault both Julie and Matt for their exceptional care. For us, they have the perfect balance between a home-style environment and a nursery, so it’s small group but it’s also very well structured. My son gets to go out on outings, I’d say 3-4 times a week- ideal for an outdoor boy like him! Julie is also very easy to work with, excellent communication and flexible. My eldest son (5) went for a day in the holidays and can’t wait to go back!
