About Me
Hi, I am a Ofsted registered childminder and I have been a childminder for 32 years. I live on the borders of Old Catton and Sprowston with my husband who is retired and also has had a enhanced DBS Check and our Cavapoo dog called Charlie who is 5 years old. Your child will be cared for in a home environment within a family atmosphere. They will receive individual attention whilst also enjoying interaction with children of various ages. I follow the EYFS (Early Year Foundation Stage) inside my setting as well as outside. I can be flexible and I am very reliable.
We enjoy having fun with various activities such as painting, reading books, Arts and crafts, Baking, singing/dancing, playing musical instruments, small world play and role play, construction play, sensory toys, tunnels, and tents. We have slides, see saws, bikes, scooters, water/sand table and lots of other outside toys in a sensory garden which attracts insects and birds in a secure garden.
I do not do any school pick-ups or drop-offs.
We have various learning games, learning books, puzzles and have a very large selection of toys which are suitable for all ages. I really enjoy my job and find it very rewarding watching the children grow up in my care and really enjoy their company. I hope to carry on childminding for the foreseeable future.

who does not live at home.
My Qualifications
I have taken the following courses: CPR First Aid, SLP Early Years Safeguarding, Female Genital Mutilation. The Prevent Duty in an Early years Environment, Autism Awareness, ADHD Awareness, Equality and Inclusion in Early Years Settings, Promoting Positive Behaviour, Improving Children's Learning through Play, EYFS Observation, Assessment and Planning and Anaphylaxis Awareness inc use of Auto-injectors. I am a member of PACEY and have my Public Liability Insurance with them. At my most recent inspection which was June 2024 I was graded 'Good' in all four areas which which is available to read on the Ofsted website.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
£5.50 per hour , MINIMUM OF £49.00 per day for each child under the age of five, this includes snacks, lunch and drinks, which are all based on a healthy diet for all dietary needs.
I OFFER GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR ALL AGES for EYFS children if eligible. I am registered with the government tax free scheme which will pay for 20% of your childcare costs.

Amanda is nothing but short of great. My son has been with her since he was 9 month old and I felt he was in safe hands from the get go. She will always reassure you if you need it and offers a homely environment for the children.
She adapts her food if you have any allergies or intolerances very well and my son has asthma and I felt fully confident with Amanda administering if needed.

Mandy provides a safe home from home environment with structured play and learning with a fully enclosed garden for little legs to run off steam. She provides us with regular updates, celebrates the children's events and all calendar holidays with them as well as collating a scrapbook of all their artwork during the course of their time in her care. Our son has spent 2 years at Mandy's and has made some great friends during his time there. Whilst we are excited as he is about to start school we are sad to take him out of an environment he has thrived in. Luckily for us, his 18 month old sister is now following in his footsteps! She has spent her first week with Mandy and has already settled in well. I couldn't recommend Mandy more.

Absolutely lovely childminder. Mandy was very patient and kind to our son. Despite having no previous childcare experience, he settled in very quickly, often coming home happily talking of various toys he'd played with and the books he had read there.
Mandy was very reliable. She didn't take any unexpected days off whilst we were with her in fact! Her home is absolutely immaculate and she's obviously a very organised and experienced childminder so we would highly recommend her! Thank you Mandy. We'll miss you. Izzy, George & Ellis

My little boy came to Landy after not enjoying going to nursery after feeling excluded… well, I wish I had discovered Mandy sooner. Throughout his time there my little boy grew with confidence and made friends along the way. Mandy’s positive outlook also helped my little one with his speech. She takes time to get to know each and every one of the children too. What I also like is that she will encourage the children to celebrate different cultures and events and will let the children try new foods which they may claim to ‘not like at home’ which was often the case with my little boy.
Overall I couldn’t recommend Mandy enough, she is kind, reliable, organised and has lovely values. Any child would be lucky to have Mandy as their childminder. NB, her cleanliness is off the scale, not just 5, but 10!

Mandy was the first childminder we had used for our two boys (2 & 4), she has a fantastic home with lots for the children to do, a fab garden and a home away from home feel.
The boys loved their time with Mandy, and they progressed in areas such as trying new fruits out, and fastening shoes which they wouldn’t do at home.
Mandy kept us updated especially if there’d been a difficult drop off, and sent pics of the boys having lots of fun so we knew they were settled.
Highly recommend and wish we had found Mandy earlier.
Thanks for al your support and care with the boys Mandy, you really made a big difference.

My son has been cared for by Mandy for the last year & out of three children this was my first experience with a childminder & it left me wishing I had of explored this avenue before.
Mandy is very caring & nurturing, her home is clean & with all the additional worries of coronavirus I never had any concerns leaving my child in her care.
My son is an extremely fussy eater & Mandy was happy to accommodate his needs.
I couldn't recommend Mandy enough & I feel sad that our journey with her has come to an end.

Our daughter has been with Mandy since she was 1 and Mandy went out of her way to help her settle and ensure she was happy. Our daughter wakes every day and asks if she can go to Mandy's house.
They are always doing something fun and educational, whether it's food tasting for Diwali or exploring her lovely garden, our daughter constantly talks about the adventures she's had with Mandy and her friends.
Mandy has consistently shown her experience in childcare, and our daughter has developed so much during her time at Mandy's.
If we weren't moving house we would have continued to stay with Mandy, she is loving, kind, professional and genuinely cares for all of her children.
Our daughter (now 3) will miss Mandy when we leave and we can only hope we will be lucky enough to find another Mandy when we move.
Highly recommended childminder, who has continued to support us as parents, by being flexible whilst we both work shifts.
I will miss my weekly emails filled with pictures of their daily fun!

Mandy was our first chosen childminder and we were lucky enough to also be neighbours (on the same street).
We decided to send our little boy to Mandy's atleast once a week from the age of one for social interaction reasons. We don't regret it one bit.....
When you first meet Mandy, she immediately gives you a calm, happy feeling and this is passed onto the children in her care straight away. She is always well presented (even first thing in the morning), her house is always warm, clean and comforting. Another added bonus is she provides, breakfast, lunch and snacks all included for children there all day.
It was nice to find a childminder that doesn't look after other children around their own, taking them all on school runs etc. That's something we've had to accept since moving home and seeking childcare elsewhere. We were truly spoilt having Mandy as our first childminder and had we not moved to the opposite side of Norwich, we'd still be using her.
I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's professional, cautious, careful, warm and kind and kids love her.
Every other childminder should seek to be as good as Mandy!!

Mandy is such a caring kind person and I felt so at ease the first time we met! I was a first time mum and Mandy really made me feel relaxed and excited about my little one joining her! Tillie always had such fun and loved being at mandys! Would highly recommend Mandy to anyone and hoping I can return to her once my second baby is due and maternity leave is over!

Mandy looked after my daughter 3 days a week from the age of 1 until she recently left to start school, and I highly recommend her childminding service. Mandy is calm, organised and reliable, her home is always clean and inviting, and there are plenty of toys! My daughter loves art and craft and Mandy has always encouraged her with lots of fun projects, often linked to the changing seasons and different festivals. We always had a chat about the day's activities and were kept up to date with developmental milestones each month. I will really miss Mandy and I am so grateful for the experience my daughter has had with her.
