My Experience

I have been working with children in a variety of settings for the last 20 years, this has included working in schools as an LSA and providing special needs support, I have managed a special needs play scheme and after school club and also worked in a mainstream nursery working across all the age ranges.
I have also been babysitting now for many years for babies and children.
supporting young people with Additional needs is what I enjoy most and my years working at the SEN play scheme were the happiest.
I also have experience of being a mum myself, I understand what it's like and I think this is valuable, I understand the importance of working in partnership and respecting the choices and wishes of parents.
My youngest son was born 5 weeks early and was on oxygen and fed via ng tube. Having him has given me experience of premature babies but also a new perspective on life and how precious our children are. I am currently on the diagnosis pathway with my youngest son, and awaiting EHCP so know now first hand about the challenges of parenting a neuro-diverse young person as well as my current employment at a local SEN college.

My Availability

I share care of my 2 boys alternate weeks with their dad, so some weeks I can be more available than others. The weeks I have the boys I have to do school run so only available 9.30am - 3.00pm. The other weeks I can do any hours.
Ideally I would love a part time nanny job to fit in around family life or babysitting.
