About Me
I have 2 grown up boys and 3 grandchildren. Having retired from teaching I still have an avid interest in education and am always looking for new fun resources to use to help my grandchildren (2 and 4) . Have a wealth of resources I have collected over the years as well as internet and ipad resources.
Main interest is maths but also enjoy english and science.
My Experience
Started teaching in primary school then transferred to secondary school.
Taught maths to GCSE and particularly enjoyed teaching those pupils who found maths difficult and / or disliked it. Taught Adult Numeracy Entry Level and
worked with special needs pupils ,adapting their work using specialist programmes and powerpoint voiceovers.
Have been Head of Year , designated
co ordinator for pupils with physical disabilities,Games teacher ,maths teacher , consultant,and private tutor.
Since retiring I have worked as a consultant supporting pupils with special needs,worked in children' s sure start centres and assisted in primary school supporting a statemented pupil.
At present I tutor a boy of Primary school age once a week.
My Qualifications
Certificate in Education - trained as junior/secondary teacher.
Taken numerous course including maths at west london institute of higher education, a counselling course, training in augmentive and alternative communication, and Makaton and BSL .
