Hello my name is June - often Junie to the little ones, and I have been a registered childminder for over 8 years now and I have many years experience in childcare previous to that.
I run Poppies childminders with my daughter Jaegar, also OFSTED registered, at our home in the Aldridge/Little Aston/Four Oaks/Sutton Coldfield area.
We are actually just across the road from the Old Irish Harp.
We both hold all of our Paediatric first aid / safeguarding / food hygiene ect certificates as well as both having up-to date DBS forms.
We have both just had our OFSTED inspection where we both achieved GOOD ratings.
We are a family run childminders in a home from home environment, with our ethos being Learning through fun !!!!!!
The children have access to a large ground floor set up that is exclusively for their use. Consisting of a toilet, living room, play room and sleep/rest area.
We have a large variety of toys, games, puzzles that all focused on learning through fun. Our outside facilities is a large garden with a play house, small little tikes climbing frame, cars, bikes and sandpit / water trays and much more.
We have a basic routine - that is very flexible depending on the need of the child(ren) in our care. We incorporate some crafts, some puzzles, circle time (songs and games) and some structured activities in to each day. As well as just playing !!!!
As said we run a home from home childminders, with a family feeling, consistency of people (just my daughter and myself) and space. All of the children I have looked after still remain in contact with us and would be more than happy to have a chat over the phone with any prospective parents to give us a reference, including the ones whose children are now at Senior School.
We give exemplary care in a warm and homely setting. With lots of fun and laughter.

Jaegar was a qualified Audiologist before she opted for a career change and started Poppies Childcare with Junie in 2013.

We currently have some full time and part time places available.
We are open 8am-5.30pm Monday -Friday.
We offer Think 2 funded places, Tax free childcare, 3 year old funded places.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have found Junie and Jaegar.
I was a very anxious first time mom 7 years ago and when the time came to look for childcare I was heartbroken at the thought of leaving my baby with a stranger. As soon as I met them both I was instantly put at ease and over the years we have developed a trusting relationship. My older daughter enjoyed 2 years at poppies before moving on to school nursery after the covid lockdown and when I had my second child 2 years ago, there was no question of where we wanted her to go. My younger daughter is still there and loves her days at Poppies!
They have created such a supportive and loving environment and really helped to support my daughters though tricky transition periods such as potty training, weaning, sleep regressions, to name but a few!
Jaegar and Junie have been more than just childcare, they have played a huge part in raising my children and their confident and kind personalities are in large part due to this kind and caring environment. Poppies has provided a real "home from home" environment which was so important to me to find if I could not be at home with them myself. There is a loose schedule of daily activities which is , singing and stories, outside play, messy play and chill time, this consistency is great for building routines and is something we follow on our days at home as it works so well. Children take lunch at the dining room table all together and learn table manners as well as enjoying hot meals and a general family environment. This has been really helpful for my youngest, who sometimes finds meal times overwhelming and doesn't enjoy the highchair!
I also appreciate the open communication. Jaegar keeps us updated on our child's progress and milestones, which makes us feel connected and involved as has also helped to identify a slight speech delay in my older daughter that was key in getting her some support when she started nursery.
To be able to go to work and be confident in their care is something I am so grateful for. I wholeheartedly recommend you to any parent seeking a warm, friendly, homely environment for their child.

My daughter was cared for by Junie & Jaegar for 3 years. I was very anxious at the time she joined Poppy’s as I had removed her from a private nursery due to concerns regarding her care & development. As soon as I walked in & met Junie & Jaegar I was put at ease with the environment & knew from meeting them that she would be well cared for. My daughter had the best 3 years & came on leaps & bounds in their care. I loved the nurturing environment, facilities & level of care. My daughter grew in confidence, her education, impeccable manners & learnt to share! She enjoyed the home setting which enabled her to not only develop her educational abilities such as reading, writing & maths in readiness for school but also to enjoy crafts, games, baking, nature, culture, the list was endless. She always had a fulfilled day & on special occasions Jaegar would go out of her way to ensure the children celebrated all celebrations & festivities from all religions. My daughter loved the routine of helping to set up the table at lunchtime & generally getting involved! Junie always made home cooked lunches for the children which went down a storm! Communication was very easy & I was always kept up to date & informed throughout the day. We were very sad when the time came for my daughter to go to school. Junie & Jaegar have both played a key part in my daughters pre school development & put her on a good stead for when she joined reception. I am forever grateful for the level of care & happy experience my daughter had. My daughter remains very fond of Junie & Jaegar, we still keep in touch & they both are always keen to hear of my daughters updates & developments. I honestly can’t recommend Poppies enough!

I was extremely anxious about finding childcare for my son in 2020 and covid added to this. I viewed a number of nursery settings and just didn’t feel comfortable. When I found jaeger and junie my nerves completely settled. My son spent 2 and a half years there and absolutely loved it. It is such a nurturing and loving environment, my sons grew in confidence so much which has really helped him settle into the school environment. The highlights for me are the home cooked foods, beautiful garden, family like environment and flexibility and communication with jaeger. I couldn’t have been happier with their care for my son and feel 100% comfortable with sending my daughter to them in December. My son can’t wait to see them again and still constantly talks about them now ! Thankyou so much

My little girl has been going to Poppies for over 2 years now and I can honestly say it’s the most nurturing and safe space for her! She is so well looked after, she has all of her needs met and I am safe in the knowledge that Junie and Jaegar will look after her.
She always comes out beaming, showing me the crafting she has done during the day. We have never had any issues with her going in, in the mornings.
Junie and Jaegar are very responsive to messages and keep me up to date.
The best part is that my little girl loves Junies cooking and says it’s better than mine!! Would 100% recommend this childminders!

My little girl has been going to Poppies since she was 7 months old. She is now two and a half and is thriving. She absolutely loves going to Junie and Jaegar's and I know she feels right at home there.
The setting is beautiful and nurturing and her days are full of fun, learning and playing.
Her social skills have developed and - despite her having trouble eating and sleeping at times- Junie and Jaegar have always gone out of their way to care for her.
She adores her home-cooked meals every day and communication about her day with Junie or Jaegar every day is wonderful.
I can't speak highly enough of Poppies- Florence truly has flourished here and I know that's due to all of the hard work and the wonderful environment Junie and Jaegar have created.

I couldn't recommend Poppies enough, my son has been going for over a year now and he loves it. He races straight through the door so excited. He has developed massively & has learned an awful lot very quickly. He always loves his lunch there and comes out with a huge smile having enjoyed his day. Junie & Jaeger were excellent at helping him to settle in when he first started and within no time he was quite happy for me to leave him. We will definitely be sending our daughter to Poppies too .

Both of my daughters have been looked after by Junie and Jaegar and have grown to have wonderful manners, confidence, creativity and a love for playing outside! They run in with excitement tment each day and come home with many stories of the fun had during the day. Communication is easy and always prompt. I can’t recommend Junie and jaegar enough my girls are true testament to their excellent care.

Our son has been attending Poppies for nearly a year and the change in him has been incredible. He was really shy and nervous but Jaeger and Junnie have really brought out his personality and his confidence. They are both so kind and caring and we 100% trust them. He runs through the front door and doesn't look back! They give updates at the end of every day and always respond if I text during the day. Our son loves going there and we couldn’t be happier with the care they provide.

My son and daughter both went to Poppies and had the best of times! Jaegar and June were settling, loving and caring towards all of the children I honestly could not fault them. My children went to Poppies for 2 years on a full time basis, they made great friends and still ask to visit whenever we are in the area! As soon as I went to look around Poppies I knew this was the setting I wanted for my children. We can't thank Poppies enough for making our time with them such a positive one.

I don't know what else I can say about Junie & Jaegar apart from how amazing they are! My daughter has been with them for 2 years and has come on leaps and bounds since being with them. My daughter found it hard at first settling in but they couldn't be more accomodating to help her ease in her. Whatever she needed whether it be sleeping in the push chair at nap times or letting her graze through her lunches they did everything the could to help. She loves being in the family/home environment and loves all of the children she plays with. They have stretched her learning massively and I'm pretty sure that if she had stayed with me she wouldn't be as advanced as she is now without their help. Every week she comes back with at least 1 or 2 things she has made and loves being there. We get daily updates in her book which gives us all the detail on what she's eaten, how's she's slept and what they have been upto. Junie & Jaegar are so easy to get on with and automatically make you feel part of the family. My daugher can't wait to get there on a Monday to tell them what she has been up to. Could not reccomend them highly enough!
