About Me
My name is Karen and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder. I have two grown up children aged 24 and 21 and I am married to Steve. We have a small dog named Bailey. I have a warm friendly home with plenty of space. I am near West Ewell Primary & Nursery school & Danetree Primary & Nursery School.
I attend stay and play sessions, visit soft play centres. I use the local facilities including the library, farm, park and other local amenities. All the children in my care are treated as individuals and are given every opportunity to reach their early learning goals in a fun and exciting way. We have lots of resources available and we plan different activities to stimulate the children and promote learning in a variety of ways. We have a passion for arts and crafts and enjoy planning different activities for the children often linked to themes or particular interests.
My Experience
I have been child minding full time for 15 years and love what I do. I have cared for children from the age of 5 weeks upwards. All of my current parents and previous parents would be happy to supply a reference. Looking after children gives you new experience every day as every child is different and has different needs. You learn every day and have to adapt yourself and your setting constantly in order to provide the children with the best learning and growing up environment. I attend courses provided by Surrey county council and utilise other companies who provide online training to continually improve myself and my setting.
I have been ofsted inspected in December 2022 and received a standard of Good.

I have passed the Introduction to Child minding course (ICP)

Our daughter has been with Karen for 2 months now and is thriving! She absolutely adores Karen and gets very excited when we drop her off in the mornings. Karen's care for our daughter is outstanding and we couldn't ask for more. She is encouraging with her development and got to know her very quickly, which was lovely and really reassuring. Karen's house is very clean and well laid out. She has a beautiful playroom for the children, with a variety of toys suitable for all ages. The children will often do arts & crafts with Karen, which I feel really channels their creativity. I would definitely recommend Karen to others and I cannot wait to see how our daughter grows over the coming years.

Our daughter has been with Karen for a year and a half now and she couldn't be happier.
Karen is a wonderful, caring and organised childminder who plans and carries out fantastic activities with our daughter.
She completes a daily diary so we know what they are doing each day and we are confident that our daughter is in the best care every day.
I would highly recommend Karen, we are very happy with the service she provides.

We have been with Karen for five years now, for both of my children (son, aged six, daughter, aged three) and have had a very positive experience. She has been excellent with my young children and provided a very loving, nurturing and varied environment - like a home from home.
Both of them enjoy going as she has lots of fun toys and is always doing interesting activities with them (baking, painting, modelling clay etc) which they have loved.
She has also helped them out a lot with learning and I get lots of updates and records of their achievements, which I have found hugely valuable.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her, and we are very sad that we'll have to leave (due to school location/pick-ups) in September, although hoping that we'll still use Karen during holidays when we can.
