About Me
Hi my names Mel I'm 34 and have three beautiful children, an 15 year old girl and a 12year old boy and a 4 year old boy, they are my world. My husband and I and our 3 children live in our lovely home in Alvaston. I have a colourful fun playroom with a variety of toys to help children develop and have lots of fun. We have a big living/dining area which I also use for childminding and a downstairs toilet. We have a good size garden with a sandpit, water table, mud kitchen, swing slide, small climbing frame and plenty of outdoor toys. We love having walks out to our local parks, and love to visit our local country parks and farms, aswell as softplays, playgroups and messy play sessions. We also love to do lots of painting and crafts.
I wanted to go into childminding as I love children, I love watching them grow and learn, and watching them become their own little person is amazing. To help and be a part of that development is just great :) The little ones become a part of the family, we grow to love them. Working from home and spending more time with my own children is a great bonus too. They love my job and love making new friends and helping out with the little ones.
I follow the EYFS for all under 5 children, so I track their progress and help them develop.
My Experience
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and I have been childminding since September 2013 and have been lucky to have looked after some amazing little children, some of them we still see and have become life long friends.
On my 2 inspections I have been rated Good :)
I have my paedeatirc first aid and safeguarding training, I also have training in FGM, food hygiene and child development. I am currently looking into doing a sign language course.
I have looked after children from newborn upwards.
My Qualifications
I have my paedeatric first aid and my home based childcare. I am registered with Ofsted. Myself and my partner also have our DBS checks.
I also have my Food Hygiene 1 Level 2, Safeguarding and Child Development level 3, FGM.
I will be attending courses in the future to further my qualifications.
My Availability
I don't have any space available at the moment.
My working hours are Mon - Thurs, 8am - 5pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I charge a daily fee of £40. But a fair charge can be sorted depending on hours.
