My Summary
About Me
I was a nanny for over 23 years before moving on to Maternity Nursing.
I trained as a Maternity Nurse with MNT in 2009 and also did Baby Sleep Training with them. In addition to this, I did Baby Care for Nannies, just to update my skills.
I love my career and feel passionate about helping parents with their little ones.
I have worked with some wonderful families over the years, and travelled, spending lengthy stretches in other countries, gaining wonderful experience along the way.
My Experience
I have experience with babies from newborn. I love to help parents establish a good and structured routine, which results in a happier and more contented baby. (My approach is very gentle).
My aim is to make sure that your baby gets the correct milk intake during the day, by scheduling their feeds and sleep correctly in a 24 hour period.
I feel passionate about my work, helping new Mums, and getting baby onto the right routine, resulting in less anxiety and sleepless nights for Mum and Dad. I do believe in encouraging a baby to self settle and to encourage healthy sleep habits, but I respect the wishes of every parent, and am gentle and flexible in my approach.
I am meticulous in my work, organised, discreet, punctual, trustworthy, respectful and easy to be around.
I am also available to help settle Mum and baby in after arriving home from hospital. I will support and guide mum in all aspects of baby care, and guide on a feeding and sleeping routine.
I also do shorter bookings for 48hrs or 72hrs to help implement a routine, and help with sleeping issues in young babies, such as helping them to learn to self settle, and link up sleep cycles. Often when babies wake up after 40-45 minutes sleep, they have trouble resettling again. I can show you how to gently encourage your baby to fall back to sleep. I will work alongside you with this, giving you the tools to continue after I leave.

Maria stayed with us for 2 weeks to help my 7 week old into a routine. She was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and very kind. Not only did she got my little boy on the right path with his routine but she also taught me and my husband a great deal. I highly recommend her!
Maria spent a full day with me and my little daughter, Sophie when she was 6 weeks old. We needed help with extending her feeding time and create a routine that suits Sophie the best.
Maria was truly amazing with the baby. After one day with Maria we had a really good schedule for a day that we are working on ever since. Maria showed me techniques on how to put my daughter to bed and different ways of calming her down and also helped me with breastfeeding. We consistently stuck to the sleeping and feeding routine and now Sophie wakes up once/twice every night - compare to the 4-6 she did before - and extended her feeding to 3-3.5 hours.
Maria was brilliant and I would not hesitate to recommend her!
I was very anxious about employing a maternity nurse for my newborn daughter.
Maria was extremely caring, gentle and warm. I was completely comfortable leaving my 2 week old daughter in Maria's care overnight and slept without a worry!
She was so good with my daughter and definitely got her off to a great start and routine from an early stage. We had her for 6 weeks and soon after Maria finished with us, she was sleeping through the night.
I would not hesitate in recommending Maria.
My one week old daughter melted in Maria's arms when she first came to work with us in January. She has a wonderful way with babies, an enormous amount of experience from routine, soothing, feeding/weaning to the best baby products and above all she gave me some much needed confidence once back from hospital with my daughter. She is a lovely person and could not recommend her enough as a maternity nurse.
Our son was very calm and relaxed in Maria's arms. She is a lovely lady and knowledgeable nanny. Maria took care of our reflux baby through the night so we could get some much needed rest. I highly recommend her.
