About Us

My name is Darshika, and as owner of Little Stars Preschool, I would like to thank you for considering Little Stars Preschool for your child.

Little Stars Pre-School was formerly known as Hillfield Nursery which was established at Hillfield Close Tennis Club offering term-time day care for children since 1999. As Manager of Hillfield Nursey, Kirti Jobanputra began to establish herself within the setting by showing her passion for childcare in the way she interacted with children and parents alike, and ensuring she obtained the required qualifications to one-day mange a childcare setting of her own.

Towards the end of 2015, Kirti and Bharat employed Darshika (Myself) as an Early Years Practitioner. I Joined with 10-years’ experience in childcare and with Kirti’s support, completed my level 5 Foundation degree in Early Education with a similar passion to Kirtis.

My dream was to own my own nursery one day. Bharat and Kirti transferred ownership of Little Stars Pre-school to me and myr husband Sanjay. In 2017 Shalini Amlani joined me as a management team to support in the day to day running of Little Stars by offering her experience and knowledge of children, parents and staff.

As a mother of 2 boys, I understand that children are the most precious part of parents’ lives, and that their safety and healthy development in a loving environment is arguably the most important thing we want for our children. Continuously loving them and always being there for them builds extremely strong parent-child bonds, and I also know that when the time comes to send your child to their first educational setting at a young age, it can be very emotional: In-fact, it was when I faced that time myself with my first son, I decided to enter childcare finding employment in my son’s setting.

My passion in childcare over the past 14 years has been motivated by the joy, and humour they bring, and also the sense of valued purpose they bring in the opportunity to help bring out their full potential. That is why, I continue to be hands on, spending one-to-one time with all the children in our setting on a daily basis. Like me, my setting Manager Shalini, and all the staff also have a passion to work with children and work to the highest standards to earn yours, and your child’s trust. Having experienced the emotional and practical aspects of childcare as a parent, our ethos is to build strong partnerships with you as parents, to understand your practical needs, and do what is best for your child.

My team and I hope that we will have the opportunity to see you in person at a viewing so that we can earn your confidence in entrusting us with your child’s daycare/preschool needs.

Since the beginning, Little Stars has understood the importance of a close link between ownership and management. Together, Shalini and myself will ensure that Little Stars continues to be an owner led childcare establishment which provides a hands on approach to the management and day to day care of the children.

Every child is unique and we believe that success and growth come from encouragement and praise. Our staff focus on building every child’s self esteem and confidence through positive feedback and rewards. We nurture their natural strengths. A child see’s the world around them with wonder and awe, we believe in encouraging their natural curiosity. Therefore our nursery is caring for children 3 months to 5 year olds.


Opening Times

Monday to Friday – 8am to 6pm
For parents who require greater flexibility in earlier or later times to these, we will discuss your needs during a consultation.

Sessions

Little Stars Preschool offers opportunities for all children. We work with local authorities to offer funded 15-and 30-hour childcare that is free for eligible parents, and private hours with competitive rates.

Monday to Friday

Funded Sessions (school term times only)

Mornings: 9am-12pm
Afternoon: 13.00pm to 16.00pm
30 hours funding hours: 9am to 3pm
Children who attend funded sessions, may enroll for additional (private hours)

Private (Non-funded sessions available term time and 51 weeks per year)
Mornings: 8am-1pm
Afternoons: 1pm-6pm
Full Day: 8am to 6pm
