About Me
Hi my name is Mandy and I am an Ofsted Registered Outstanding Childminder living in Yeadon. I am married with one daughter.
I provide a warm, loving and caring environment for the children to grow and develop in. We visit parks, farms, parent and toddler groups, the local Children's Centre as well as places like Harewood House, Temple Newsam and Bolton Abbey.
Children in my care have a wide variety of toys and equipment to play with while they are learning. I provide lots of opportunities and experiences your child. These will enhance their knowledge. It also encourages their development. I have a fully enclosed rear garden and had an extension built to provide a playroom and a downstairs toilet.
I am a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) and keep up to date with the current rules and regulations.
Ofsted graded me 'Outstanding' at my latest Ofsted inspection in October 2024.
Registered to offer places for 15/30 hrs "Free Childcare" providing parents meet the Local Authority and Government criteria. I am also registered on the Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme.
My Experience
Registering as a childminder in 1998 I worked together with another childminder in her home. In July 2002 I registered with Ofsted to work in my own home and have been doing this ever since which I love.
Childminding for over 25 years has given me a greater understanding of children and has also provided lots of experiences not just for the children in my care but for me too.
I have 3 nieces and 9 nephews the oldest of which is now 39 and he lived at home with us for the first 6 years of his life. As well as looking after my own daughter and family members, I have cared for babies as young as 6 weeks old when their parents returned to work.
The schools I take and collect children from are Yeadon Westfield Infant School & Nursery, Yeadon Westfield Junior School and SS Peter & Paul Catholic School in Yeadon.
My Qualifications
I have a CACHE Level 3 Certifciate in Childminding Practice
Accredited Level 3 Certificate in Paediatric First Aid
CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent
CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges
Food Hygiene
Every Child a Tallker
EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
Level 3 in Movement Play
I have undertaken a large amount of training to keep to to date with current rules and regulations.
My Availability
I currently have a vacancy for children from Birth to 5 years (not at school etc so with me during the day) on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Happy to consider term-time only.
